Baltimore Ravens: Running back Kenneth Dixon on the roster bubble?

In a feature column on The Athletic, Jeff Zrebiec mentioned that Kenneth Dixon could very well likely be on the roster bubble this preseason.

It was reported during camp that Kenneth Dixon has been dealing with a hamstring injury which forced him to miss plenty of practice as well as departing from camp early on Tuesday with the same injury. The Ravens depth at running back is very thin with Alex Collins and Buck Allen being ahead of Dixon. Behind Dixon is UDFA Gus Edwards and former Florida running back Mark Thompson. It will be interesting if Dixon does get cut. (Source: Jeff Zrebiec – The Athletic)

Tom Silverstein reported that Jake Ryan was carted off the field this afternoon with a knee injury. Fellow Packers teammate Blake Martinez said that Jake Ryan was “devastated” due to the knee injury. There has not been any word on how serious the injury but Martinez informed the younger linebacker talent to be prepared. (Source: Tom Silverstein – Milwaukee Journal Sentinal)

New York Jets: Jets opening up to trading offseason signee Bridgewater?

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the New York Jets could be open to trading Teddy Bridgewater this offseason after just signing him.

This offseason, the Jets drafted their quarterback of the future in Sam Darnold which is a threat to Bridgewater who is competing to start this offseason. Should Sam Darnold live up to his high expectations then there would not need much need for Bridgewater in New York with Josh McCown also being there. Teams like New Orleans and recently rumored Miami could have interest if Bridgewater does become available. (Source: Rich Cimini – ESPN)

Cleveland Browns: Adam Jones to work out for the Browns on Thursday

This is the first time “football” wise of a team having possible interest in Adam Jones this offseason since being declined his option by Cincinnati in March. Jones was in the media recently for an altercation at an airport incident earlier this month. Should Jones impress with the Browns he could push for a starting spot in Cleveland.  Free Agency: RB DeMarco Murray spoke to 4-5 teams recently

DeMarco Murray was a guest on the Adam Schefter Podcast talking about his time in Tennessee and Derrick Henry but also about his free agent process. In the audio, he said he turned down a tryout with the Saints and that he is waiting for the right opportunity. The former rushing champion was once linked to the Detroit Lions earlier in free agency but nothing came about it. He could be looking at the start of training camp for something to come his way.  Houston Texans: Receiver Braxton Miller on the roster bubble?

Braxton Miller, 25, was the Texans third-round selection in 2016 but has struggled to really find his way with the Texans in the last two seasons. Heading into training camp, Braxton Miller faces an uphill battle where he will be competing against Sammie Coates, Keke Coutee, and DeAndrew White. Miller could be potential trade bait if stuff does not look up for him during camp. (Source: Houston Chronicle)

Adrian Peterson: Peterson interested in Texans, Rams, Panthers & Packers as landing spots?

In an interview with NFL Live today, Adrian Peterson says that he is interested in possibly joining Houston, Los Angeles, Carolina or Green Bay. It comes as a shock that Peterson is not mentioning Tampa Bay as earlier this week Peterson took a photo with Jameis Winston and coach Dirk Koetter in Florida. Adrian Peterson, 33, has not received much interest in free agency which worries if he will be signed anytime before training camp. (Source: NFL Live – May 28th, 2018)

New Orleans Saints: Saints interested in re-signing Adrian Peterson?

Earlier this week it was reported that Adrian Peterson was interested in re-signing with the New Orleans but it seems that the Saints are not looking into a veteran back.

Head Coach Sean Payton said that the team is not ready to bring in a veteran back even with the suspension of Mark Ingram for the first four games of the season but would consider bringing in a veteran if needed.

Unless the Saints have cold feet on bringing in a veteran back, Alvin Kamara will get the bulk of the carries while Jonathan Williams will get backup reps. But don’t count out third-year back Daniel Lasco(Source: Sean Payton – May 12th, 2018)

Carolina Panthers: Garrett Gilbert the favorite to backup Cam Newton in 2018?

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Panthers head coach Ron Rivera mentioned that Garrett Gilbert is the current favorite to backup Cam Newton this coming season. For the past six seasons, the Panthers had Derek Anderson as Newton’s backup but he still remains on the market and with this just breaking in it seems like he will not be back in Carolina in 2018. Carolina also has journeyman quarterback Taylor Heinicke but he is likely in a battle with rookie quarterback Kyle Allen for #3 if anything. (Source: Joe Person – May 12th, 2018)
