Cleveland Indians: Indians interested in Padres Brand Hand
The Brad Hand rumors are once again making their rounds and now the Cleveland Indians have thrown their names in the hat.
This season, Brad Hand is currently posting a 3.05 ERA and has saved 24 of 29 saves this season. The Indians are in need of relievers in their bullpen as their pen this season has been very lackluster and as well as Cody Allen and Andrew Miller are set to become free agents at years end. Brad Hand is under contract until 2020 but also carries a club option for 2021 which is worth $10 million. San Francisco Giants: Giants interested in Giancarlo Stanton and Justin Upton
A number of teams have expressed interest in Stanton but the Giants have emerged as the team that has expressed the high most in acquiring the slugger. The Giants pursue of Stanton could be stalled as the team lacks a minor league farm system to send as compensation to acquire him so the Giants had a backup plan and could have success in acquiring Justin Upton from Detroit.
Justin Upton is in a situation where he can opt of his contract with the Tigers at the conclusion of the season. If the San Francisco Giants acquired Upton from the Tigers it would not make much sense as they will only have him for a month until he will able to hit the free agent market, opting out of his current contract. The deadline to make a possible trade will be tomorrow afternoon so we are prepared to be in an interesting 24 hours.

Los Angeles Dodgers: Dodgers president Andrew Freidman was in Japan to scout Shohei Otani
BTB Score writer Kazuto Yamazaki tweeted out that members of the Los Angeles Dodgers including President of Baseball Operations Andrew Freidman and Dodger great Orel Hershiser was in attendance for Sunday’s game to scout Shohei Otani.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the latest team to be joining the possible pursuit of Shohei Otani if he decides to come to Major League Baseball. Fellow teams in pursuit of Otani are the Rangers, Dodgers, Padres, Giants, Yankees, Cubs and Astros.
Some say that Otani could likely lean toward staying in Japan over than coming to Major League Baseball. The reason being for this is that he will be being signed as a regular rookie and would make way-way-way less than his contract in Japan. If signed to play Major League Baseball, Otani will make roughly $550,000 dollars for three seasons + a total of $300,000 signing bonus. This is something to keep tabs on heading into this offseason.

Detroit Tigers: Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler claimed off waivers by unknown team
Rumors have been swirling around baseball that an unknown team has claimed Detroit Tigers second baseman, Ian Kinsler.
This is not the first time Kinsler’s name has been brought to the attention of trade rumors. Earlier this week, Ian Kinsler received interest from the Milwaukee Brewers but the Brewers were not awarded Ian Kinsler on revocable waivers. The winning team that claimed Kinsler off waivers now has 48-hours to work out a trade for him or everything goes back to normal and Kinsler continues the season with Detroit.
Ian Kinsler is currently in a contract year with the Tigers but can remain with the Tigers in 2018 under his player option which will pay him $18 million in 2018. If for some reason Kinsler does make it to the free agent market he will be one of the most sought-after free agents this winter. Check back for more information as the story continues to take shape.

San Francisco Giants: Giants to listen to offers on Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija
Currently sitting in the midst of a lost season, the Giants are likely realizing that it’s time to rebuild and primarily their minor league farm system.
Yesterday, the Giants made a trade with the Red Sox sending Eduardo Nunez to Boston in exchange for the Red Sox #18 prospect Shaun Anderson and another fellow pitching prospect. Following the win, a report was released that the Giants are going to listen to offers on pitchers Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija. The Giants could be prepared to have their phones ringing off the hook as both pitchers could be big additions for team’s who need an extra piece to their rotation and especially if you are a team making a big playoff push in the remaining two months.
Both Cueto and Samardzija have been linked as pitchers of interest from others teams, especially Samardzija. Jeff Samardzija has been linked to the Houston Astros at one point but nothing ever came of the deal. The Astros could still have interest in him so look for Samardzija to possibly be moved faster than Cueto.
Atlanta Braves: Atlanta Braves interested in Texas Rangers INF/OF Jurickson Profar
The Atlanta Braves have emerged as one of the teams interested in Texas Rangers infielder/outfielder Jurickson Profar as the trade deadline approaches.
This is not the first time that Profar’s name has been brought up in trade talks in recent memory as at one point where he was a top prospect in baseball he was one of the most sought after prospects in the game. Fast forward to today, Jurickson Profar has taken a huge step back in his career and has been at best in his career bouncing around from the minors to the majors since 2012. This season, Profar has appeared in 22 games and is batting .172 with 5 RBI’s with an on-base percentage of .294.
Jurickson Profar, 24, can benefit with a change but the Texas Rangers asking price could be interesting. Any team chasing Profar will really have to blow the Texas Rangers away with an offer to grab him. Jurickson Profar still has a lot of upside being very versatile with his experience in the infield and outfield which will benefit any team looking for depth in both areas. Keep Jurickson Profar on your trade radar and keep checking back with us for more MLB Trade Deadline coverage.
Chicago Cubs: Chicago Cubs moving on from Verlander trade talks, now focusing on Michael Fulmer
The Chicago Cubs and the Justin Verlander talks have stalled as the Cubs are deciding not to pursue Verlander any longer likely due to the asking price being incredibly high. But now there is a swerve here as the Cubs are now shifting their focus on fellow Tigers pitcher, Michael Fulmer.
The Chicago Cubs are serious about acquiring Fulmer as they offered outfielder Kyle Schwarber to try and acquire him. Kyle Schwarber has had a rough patch this season which lead to him being demoted to the minors shortly before the all-star break. The Chicago Cubs are in a battle in the central division as they currently sit at two games before .500 and are 5 games out from the first place Milwaukee Brewers. The Chicago Cubs recently have had issues with the backend of their rotation as they lost John Lackey, Brett Anderson and Kyle Hendricks, all of their DL stints lead into the start of the second half of the season. The addition of Michael Fulmer could be crucial for the Cubs as they will have another ace in their rotation and add depth to their sunken rotation outside of Lester and Arrieta.
This season, Michael Fulmer is posting a 9-6 win/loss ratio, 3.19 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 17 games this season.
Boston Red Sox: Red Sox are targeting Marlins players Martin Prado as well as pitcher David Phelps
Rumor on the street is that the Boston Red Sox are in the market for adding Miami Marlins Martin Prado and David Phelps. For quite some time now the Martin Prado’s name has been brought up in trade talks with the Red Sox and the Red Sox’s rival the Yankees but no team has been at the forefront.
David Phelps was the latest name to emerge as the latest Marlins player to get David Phelps is the latest name to emerge as the latest Marlins player to get interest from other teams. Since joining the Miami Marlins during the 2014 season, David Phelps role has improved from an early inning relief pitcher to now working was the primary setup man for the Marlins today. This season, David Phelps has been up and down, he holds a 2-4 record with an 3.56 ERA in 40 games this season. The Red Sox are in dire need of bullpen depth as a handful of their relief pitchers find themselves on the disabled list. David Phelps could maintain the role setup man role if he lands with Boston.
