Houston Texans: Texans waived wide receiver Jaelen Strong | September 18th, 2017

After two seasons with the Houston Texans, the team announced that they have waived Jaelen Strong.

Jalen Strong was the Texans third-round selection out of Arizona State in the 2013 NFL Draft. Jaelen Strong had a lot of potential coming out of Arizona State but ultimately became a non-factor for the team overall. During his tenure in Houston, Strong has dealt with off the field issues with the latest coming from this past February where he was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona for marijuana possession and was arrested and later released from jail. His marijuana possession got him suspended for the first week of the season.

After serving his week-one suspension, Strong returned to the field this past Thursday vs. Cincinnati but continued to become a non-factor in the Texans offense. Jaelen Strong was shown his walking papers after the Texans found him expendable and this comes at the wrong as the Texans already have Will Fuller, Bruce Ellington and multiple tight ends out due to injury. Jaelen Strong could get some looks on waivers and could be a depth addition to an NFL roster at this point. Jaelen Strong could get some looks on waivers and could be a depth addition to an NFL roster at this point. I would expect the Cleveland Browns to have potential interest in him on waivers as they just lost Corey Coleman to a broken hand, we will see in the coming day or days if he passes through claimed or unclaimed.

Cleveland Browns: Corey Coleman undergoes hand surgery, out 6-8 weeks | September 18th, 2017

During yesterday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Corey Coleman re-broke his right hand, the same hand he broke last year.

This is a bad sign for the Browns as their receiving core will take a big shot with not having Corey Coleman going forward. Having to roll with the times the Browns will now turn to Sammie Coates and Rashard Higgins in the meantime to pick up the pieces. Corey Coleman’s injury will cost him 6-8 weeks after the original report that he was out indefinitely.

Baltimore Ravens: Ravens running back Kenneth Dixon suspended another two games | September 16th, 2017

Already serving a 4-game suspension for PED violation by the league, Kenneth Dixon‘s suspension has now added on another two games for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.

Luckily for Dixon, he will serve his suspension this year while he is sitting on injured-reserve recovering from his torn meniscus surgery.

Kenneth Dixon was the Baltimore Raven’s fourth-round pick in 2016 out of Louisiana Tech. Last season, Kenneth Dixon was the primary backup for starting running back Terrance West. In Dixon’s rookie year he worked well as a receiving back as he had 30 receptions for 132 yards and 1 touchdown while rushing for 382 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Kenneth Dixon has the potential to be a solid back for the Ravens but now he will be linked with a lot of injury concern and his suspension flaws heading into the 2018 season.

Arizona Cardinals: Cardinals running back David Johnson could be out 4-months due to wrist injury | September 11th, 2017

During yesterday’s game vs. Detroit, David Johnson sustained a serious wrist injury and is looking at a four month recovery.

David Johnson and the Cardinals staff are hoping to try and avoid the injury that will cost him the majority of the season so he is due to have a second opinion sometime this week. The Arizona Cardinals already have T.J. Logan out on I.R. with a wrist injury so depth at running back will be a concern for the 0-1 Arizona Cardinals.

Going forward, the Cardinals will have Kerwynn Williams as their starting running back with Andre Ellington being his featured backup. The Arizona Cardinals also announced that they have signed former New England Patriots wide receiver D.J. Foster off their practice squad to fillout the depth chart at running back. D.J. Foster has ties in Arizona as he was a member of the Arizona State football team and was prominate figure on their offense for a number of years.

Cincinnati Bengals: Linebacker Vontaze Burfict facing 5-game suspension | August 27th, 2017

Once again, Vontaze Burfict‘s player safety issues are continuing on and this time around he is facing a five game suspension from the league.

Each of the last three seasons in league Burfict has either been suspended or fined heavily for his carelessness for player safety. The possible suspension he is facing is coming down from his illegal hit on Kansas City Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman back during last week’s preseason game.

Vontaze Burfict will appeal the possible suspension next week. If Burfict is not successful in getting the suspension lifted he will join Adam Jones as the other Bengals defensive player to be suspended to start the regular season. If Vontzae Burfict’s suspension remains intact it will boost linebacker Marquis Flowers to starting linebacker in Burfict’s absence.

New York Jets: Jets quarterback Bryce Petty sustained “considerable MCL injury” | August 27th, 2017

The struggles continue for the New York Jets as they are on the brink of losing quarterback Bryce Petty for a considerable amount of time. If the diagnosis comes back as an MCL injury and not an ACL tear he is looking at missing the first month of the season for sure.

The New York Jets are set for a disastrous season and the woes continue into their quarterback with the likely loss of Bryce Petty. Josh McCown is set as the Jets quarterback with Christian Hackenberg set as the back-up. Bryce Petty has more tests coming up soon and we will keep you updated with more information as it presents itself.

Update (9:30 AM ET): Bryce Petty sustained a Grade 1 MCL Sprain and is hoping to play this coming Thursday in the preseason finale. The Jets are hoping he will be ready to go once the regular season gets underway.

Cleveland Browns: Browns release Desmond Bryant, saving $3 million dollars | August 23rd, 2017

In the final year of his five-year $34 million dollar contract, the Browns released defensive lineman Desmond Bryant.

During his tenure with the Browns Bryant was hit with the injury bug docking his performance. In 2013, Bryant ended the year on reserve/non-football illness list due to an irregular heartbeat. In 2016, Bryant sustained torn pectoral while lifting weights costing him all of 2016. As of recently, Desmond Bryant is working his way back from injury and has been regulated with working with backups and only appeared in the 4th quarter of Monday’s game.

At 32 and entering his 8th year in the league Desmond Bryant should be able to latch on to another team looking for depth on the defensive line.

Los Angeles Chargers logo Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers center Max Tuerk suspended for first four-games of 2017 season | August 23rd, 2017

Los Angeles Chargers backup center Max Tuerk has been suspended the first four games of 2017 NFL Season after testing positive for PED’s.

Max Tuerk released a statement on the ordeal. “This offseason, I made the mistake of taking over-the-counter supplements. In doing so, I opened myself up to the possibility of consuming a tainted supplement – something that ultimately led to a positive test for a banned substance. I accept responsibility for my actions and understand the NFL’s policy is very clear on this matter. This is a very hard way to learn a lesson, and I will never make this mistake again.”

Max Tuerk was the Chargers third-round draft choice last year but did not see any action. Max Tuerk will be able to play in preseason games as well as participate in practice but will miss four games and return in week 5 against the Giants.

Buffalo Bills: Anquan Boldin announces retirement from the Bills after two weeks | August 20th, 2017

This is truly a move that comes out of left field. Two weeks ago, Anquan Boldin signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills and was set to become the Bills #3 receiver on the depth chart as well as a coach for the very young and talent Bills receiving core due to his veteran-ship in the league.

The Bills are a team that is looking like a team that is prepared for a rebuild. In a matter of weeks, they lose Anquan Boldin as well as trading away Sammy Watkins to the Rams and defensive back Ronald Darby to the Eagles. Our guess is that at age 37, Anquan Boldin wanted to be part of a team that he can contribute to and aid in a big playoff push but the Bills are not a playoff-caliber team in 2017. Prior to signing with the Bills, Boldin said that he has no intentions of retiring anytime soon so this is likely just a ploy to get out of Buffalo and latch on to another team before the season kicks off.

If this is truly the end of Anquan Boldin in the NFL he then ends his career with 1076 receptions for 13,779 receiving yards and 82 touchdowns. We will continue to provide updates if Anquan Boldin does indeed resurface.

Miami Dolphins: Miami Dolphins sign linebacker Rey Maualuga | August 19th, 2017

The linebacker-needy Miami Dolphins have added depth at linebacker by signing Rey Maualuga.

The Miami Dolphins took a huge hit during training camp when they lost second round draft choice Raekwon McMillan to a torn ACL. During McMillan’s absence, linebacker Mike Hull has been taking that step forward and getting reps with the first team defense.

Signing with the Dolphins is a feel good moment for Maualuga as he will regroup with his former Bengals defensive coordinator Matt Burke. On a bit of a decline late in his career, Rey Maualuga will not be guaranteed a roster spot but he solid depth addition in the short-term. Mike Hull

Baltimore Ravens: Former Ravens linebacker Zach Orr to remain retired from football | August 18th, 2017

In an article posted on the Player Tribune, Zach Orr announced that he will remain retired from professional football.

This winter, Zach Orr announced that he is retiring from football due to neck/spinal condition but would later announce that he will come out of retirement on June 28th in an interview with Good Morning Football. Since announcing his intention to return to football in June Orr has been in contact with just about half the league but no team will give him a 100% go to resume his career.

Zach Orr, 25, will remain retired. Orr finishes his three-year NFL career with 162 total tackles, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 interception.

Read the full Players Tribune article by Zach Orr.

Philadelphia Eagles: Eagles release running back Ryan Mathews | August 15th, 2017

This was a move that has been a long time coming. Ryan Mathews fate in Philadelphia was officially sealed when the Eagles signed former New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount.

The delay of the Eagles releasing Ryan Mathews was because the Eagles had to wait until Ryan Mathews was cleared to return as he was dealing with a neck injury. Now medically cleared and healthy to start practicing, Ryan Mathews is now able to sign with any team that has the interest in the coming 30-year old.

Ryan Mathews should have a solid enough market to get signed in the coming days as teams like the Packers, Cowboys, and the Giants. All teams listed could use depth at running back but the Cowboys could use Mathews as a spot starter until Elliot returns from his suspension.

Baltimore Ravens: Ravens sign quarterback Thad Lewis | August 14th, 2017

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they have signed former Buffalo Bills quarterback, Thad Lewis. This is the first time Lewis’s name has been surfaced since last summer as he underwent ACL surgery which he sustained during the preseason. Thad Lewis comes to Baltimore as mainly an upgrade camp arm as the team waived quarterback Dustin Vaughan in corresponding move. The Baltimore Ravens are to be without Joe Flacco for the preseason so Ryan Mallett, Thad Lewis and Josh Woodrum will be the three quarterbacks getting snaps during the remaining three games. The Colin Kaepernick wait continues to roll on.

Los Angeles Chargers logo Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman out 4-6 weeks with ankle injury | August 14th, 2017

Injuries. Injuries. Injuries. This Chargers team just can’t avoid their top talent getting hurt. During last night’s preseason kickoff game vs. Seattle, Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was carted off the field with an ankle injury. This morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted out that Denzel Perryman will be out 4-6 weeks (injury not yet disclosed). The injury will force Denzel Perryman out for the remaining three games of the preseason and possibly the first two weeks of the regular season. The injury of Denzel Perryman will open up more playing time for linebacker Joshua Perry and Korey Toomer. The Chargers really got lucky here.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Buccaneers waive 2016 second round selection, Roberto Aguayo | August 12th, 2017

After a struggling 2016 campaign and a struggling start to the preseason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have waived 2016 second round selection, Roberto Aguayo. This is a decision that was a long time coming. In his rookie campaign, Roberto Aguayo completed 22 of 31 field goal attempts last year and the other against Cincinnati, Aguayo missed a huge 47-yard field goal, sealing his fate with the Buccaneers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have Nick Folk going forward as the team starter. As for Aguayo, it could be a little while until his name resurfaces again.

Los Angeles Chargers logo Los Angeles Chargers: Former Chargers/Chiefs defensive back Brandon Flowers announces retirement | August 7th, 2017

After nine-seasons in the National Football League, former Chargers and Chiefs defensive back Brandon Flowers announced his retirement. Brandon Flowers spent six seasons with Kansas City before joining the Chargers in 2014. Brandon Flowers career took hits due to a number of injuries that have riddled him over the years. In 2016, Brandon Flowers had issues staying healthy as he missed 10 games in 2016 which ended in Week 10 vs. Miami where he sustained a concussion. The Chargers would later place him on injured-reserve for the remainder of the year, ending his run with the team.

This offseason, the Chargers decided to part-ways with Flowers allowing him to test the free agent market. Brandon Flowers found minimal interest in free agency but no-deal was ever brought to the table for him. Now 31, Brandon Flowers ends his 9-year NFL career with 1 Pro Bowl selection under his belt and retires with career totals of 429 tackles, 3 sacks, 21 interceptions and 4 forced fumbles.

New York Jets logo New York Jets: Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa out for the 2017 NFL Season due to a neck injury | August 7th, 2017

The New York Jets continue to get buried. Quincy Enunwa, Jets #1 wide receiver, is done for the season after sustaining a neck injury during today’s scrimmage. The New York Jets have had one of the most disappointing offseasons in recent history due to the amount of players getting injured and front office politics. The latest subtraction for 2017, Quincy Enunwa, came out of nowhere in 2016 where he put up huge numbers (58 receptions, 857 receiving yards, 4 touchdowns). The loss of Enunwa to the Jets is massive as they will now have to scramble to bring in a veteran receiver or turn to receivers Robby Anderson and rookie Chad Hansen to pickup the workload this season.

Update: Quincy Enunwa sustained a bulging disk in his neck according to New York Daily News.

Cleveland Browns logo Cleveland Browns: Browns name Brock Osweiler for week one of the preseason vs. New Orleans | August 7th, 2017

Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson announced Monday morning that quarterback Brock Osweiler will start Thursday’s game vs. New Orleans as starter. This has been news over the past couple of days but nothing was yet set and stone. All camp long the starting battle has been between Brock Osweiler and rookie DeShone Kizer, Cody Kessler has been regressing at camp. Brock Osweiler will look to put up a strong first game and give him distance from Kizer and the starting role.

Minnesota Vikings logo Minnesota Vikings: Vikings sign defensive tackle Linval Joseph to a 4-year contract extension | August 5th, 2017

The Minnesota Vikings premiere pass rusher Linval Joseph has signed a four-year contract extension. According to Ian Rapoport, the extension is worth $50 million dollars with $31.5 million dollars in guaranteed money. Linval Joseph, 28, is coming off another productive season in which he had a combined tackle total of 77 tackles in 2017, 3 forced-fumbles and 4 sacks. This was a deal that had to get done for the Vikings.

Los Angeles Chargers logo Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers acquire Cardale Jones from Buffalo Bills for 7th round pick | July 27th, 2017

The Los Angeles Chargers probably have found their future quarterback as they acquired quarterback Cardale Jones from the Buffalo Bills for a 7th round draft pick.

Over the years the Chargers have not really focused on who will be the successor to Philip Rivers after he retires and now they are likely looking at the situation. Cardale Jones, 24, is a development piece and is a starting point for the Chargers in their looks for potential quarterbacks who can take the throne as Chargers starting quarterback in the coming years.

The Chargers currently hold Kellen Clemens and former Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici as backups to Rivers and adding Jones into the mix will put pressure on Clemens and Berco in Chargers camp. Cardale Jones will regroup with former offensive coordinator and now Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn.

Philadelphia Eagles logo Philadelphia Eagles: Eagles release 2014 1st round pick linebacker, Marcus Smith | July 26th, 2017

A former 1st round pick during the Chip Kelly Era in Philadelphia, the Eagles released Marcus Smith from their roster.

The cards were in play that the Eagles were prepared to move on from Marcus Smith at some point as they declined his 5th-year option and have decided to release him entirely today. The releasing of Marcus Smith saves the Eagles money as they will be off the hook for paying him his $594,000 roster which would have totaled over $1 million dollars this season.

Since breaking into the league in 2014 Marcus Smith really never transitioned well with the Philadelphia Eagles. Marcus Smith was drafted as a linebacker but was then converted to defensive end and that still did not work well in favor of Marcus Smith. Entering training camp, Marcus Smith was likely on the roster-bubble as the Eagles are stacked on their line with the addition of Derek Barnett and Chris Long, Marcus Smith was just being buried on the Eagles depth chart.

Now on the free agent market, Marcus Smith, 25, still in the prime of his career should get some interest on the free agent market from teams who are looking to add depth to their defense.

Baltimore Ravens logo Baltimore Ravens: Ravens running back Kenneth Dixon done for year after meniscus surgery | June 26th, 2017

News of surgery broke and was at one time reported as a minor procedure was needed and fast forward to now it was a major procedure that cost Dixon the 2017 season.

Kenneth Dixon was to enter the 2017 season on a four-game suspension stemming from a substance violation back in March. The upcoming season could have been the biggest season for Dixon following the suspension as he was setup to get a big bulk of the carries following his suspension but now things have changed and the Ravens are now in a bit of a pickle.

With the subtraction of Dixon in the backfield, the Ravens are left with Terrance West and Danny Woodhead (who is coming off ACL surgery) as their likely #1 and #2 backs. The Ravens are in a situation where they may look for aid outside of the team to have a more stable core of running backs once week one rolls around. In an article on NFL.com, the Ravens could be looking to trade for a back and could monitor 49ers back Carlos Hyde. The Ravens could also make this matter an in-home issue and look to keep Bobby Rainey, Buck Allen and Taquan Mizzell and battle it out during the preseason.

This will be a storyline to monitor as the Ravens open up training camp tomorrow and the preseason kicks off in 2-weeks time.

Miami Dolphins logo Miami Dolphins: Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi announces retirement after 7-seasons | July 26th, 2017

A Miami Dolphin since being drafted by the Dolphins in 2010, Koa Misi announces his retirement from the NFL after 7-seasons in the NFL. The reason for the retirement was due to the constant injuries that have held him back dating back to last year. Last season, Koa Misi played only three games as he was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury. During the offseason, Misi underwent spinal fusion surgery and was in the process of working his way back but possibly his body was rejecting the comeback.

Koa Misi, 30, finishes his NFL career with 84 career game appearances, 358 total tackles (100 assists), 12 sacks and 1 touchdown.

Philadelphia Eagles logo Philadelphia Eagles: Eagles release WR Dorial Green-Beckham | June 30th, 2017

After one season with the Philadelphia Eagles, third-year wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham was given his pink slip out of Philadelphia.

This offseason the Eagles really took it as a priority to give quarterback Carson Wentz more reliable targets and they found that in Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith. The addition of Jeffery and Smith really started to crowd the receiving core which left doubt in Green-Beckham cracking the team’s roster. With doubt really brewing outside of OTA’s and minicamp the Eagles really did Green-Beckham a favor in cutting him before and not during training camp.

Dorial Green-Beckham, 24, will now be looking to latch on to his third NFL team since being drafted by the Titans in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Finding a new home should not be much a problem for him as there are a few teams that could be on his radar such as the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers could be potential suitors. Either way, any team he signs with he is no better than a #3 on roster at this current juncture in his career.

National Football League 2008.svg Karlos Williams: Free agent RB Karlos Williams suspended for one-year by the league | June 29th, 2017

Former Buffalo Bills running back Karlos Williams has been suspended one-year by the National Football League.

Karlos Williams had one game remaining from his suspension from last year and with suspension it pushes it back even further. Karlos Williams has been on a decline since his final days with the Bills as he showed up to 2016 camp out of shape and later being suspended, giving him a pink slip out of Buffalo. After Williams tenure with the Bills, the Steelers gave him a shot, signing him to the practice squad. After signing with the Steelers in October, Williams was suspended yet again for 10-games ending his run with the Steelers months later in March.

Karlos Williams, 24, was capable at being a solid back in the NFL but with the number of suspensions he could looked upon unless he gets everything together after his suspension and/if the NFL will reinstate him.

Dallas Cowboys logo Dallas Cowboys: Cowboys KR Lucky Whitehead to be on the roster bubble? | June 24th, 2017

Dallas Morning News reporter David Moore reports that Lucky Whitehead‘s job could be on the line. Since joining the Dallas Cowboys in 2015 Whitehead has not been limited to being a contributor on kick returners due to his fast speed but he has not been able to branch into contributing in the receiving game.

During the 2017 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys added North Carolina wide receiver Ryan Switzer who has experience on special teams and as well as being a productive wide receiver. Ryan Swizter‘s presence in Dallas could be troublesome to Whitehead as he will be competing for his job during camp and the preseason.

Los Angeles Chargers logo Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers LB Melvin Ingram signs a $66 million deal over four seasons | June 11th, 2017

The wait is over and Melvin Ingram has finally got a deal done and signed with the Los Angeles Chargers.

This is a deal that should have been done sooner but even still everything is done and the Chargers have locked up Melvin Ingram until 2020, which will be a HUGE free agent year for the Los Angeles Chargers. Melvin Ingram has erupted for the Chargers the past two seasons as he amassed a total of 18.5 sacks as to his 6 the prior 3 seasons. The Chargers have done a great job adding defensive help the past couple of offseasons through free agency and the draft. Last year, they added Joey Bosa, Brandon Mebane and Casey Hayward and this year they added Tre Boston. New defensive coordinator Gus Bradley has a defensive arsenal at his expense and this defense has all the makings of being one of the league’s best in due time.

Melvin Ingram will be used as a 3-4 rusher in the newly revamped Gus Bradley led defense.

New York Jets logo New York Jets: Jets release linebacker David Harris after 10 seasons | June 6th, 2017

My god, the New York Jets are bad….Like very very bad. This move does not really make much sense to most of us who are reporting this move but it has been confirmed that Harris is indeed cut by the New York Jets. The New York Jets are looking like they are purposely trying to tank in 2017 as they will be able to land an early draft selection in 2018.

One of the biggest holes on the Jets is their quarterback situation and with Christian Hackenberg, Bryce Petty and Josh McCown their long-term option they will do what they can to secure a top 3 pick to select either Wyoming’s Josh Allen or USC’s Sam Darnold. With the departure of David Harris the Jets will save nearly $6.8 million dollars in cap. Harris, 33, has at least a couple of seasons left in the tank. David Harris will have no problem finding a home in the coming week or so.

Seattle Seahawks logo Seattle Seahawks: Seahawks sign former Browns quarterback Austin Davis | June 5th, 2017

For quite some time the Seahawks have been linked to Colin Kaepernick but they have decided against him and sign quarterback Austin Davis. Austin Davis will have a huge chance to win the backup quarterback role due to Trevone Boykin‘s recent arrest history. Austin Davis previously spent two seasons with the Cleveland Browns where he played in 3 games in 2015 and served as a backup in all of 2016. The addition of Davis to Seattle closes the door of Kaepernick joining them for now but now forever, the team could eventually pick up discussions at a later date.

Chicago Bears logo Chicago Bears: Bears claim fullback Michael Burton off waivers from the Detroit Lions | June 1st, 2017

The Detroit Lions found Michael Burton expendable after they signed Matt Asiata days ago. Michael Burton had a decent run with the Lions but when Jim Bob Cooter’s offense was put into effect there really was no use for Burton with the Lions. Michael Burton will join a Bears team who use a fullback on a regular and he will compete against Freddie Stevenson on who will block for Jordan Howard and company this coming year.

Chicago Bears logo Chicago Bears: Bears sign wide receiver Victor Cruz | May 25th, 2017

After some time on the free agent market, Victor Cruz has finally found a new home and it is with the Chicago Bears.

After having a productive few seasons in New York, Victor Cruz fell off in his final couple of seasons in New York. In 2014, Victor Cruz sustained a torn patella tendon and missed the rest of the 2014 season after four games and all of 2015 due to the injury. Victor Cruz came back this past season but was a non-factor in the Giants offense racking up 1 touchdown on 39 receptions, but he did average 15 yards a catch.

Victor Cruz will be joining a Bears team where he will be competing for a roster spot once camp opens up. The Bears have re-upped their core by adding Reuben Randle, Markus Wheaton and Kendall Wright this offseason. It will be a tough battle ahead for the 31-year old.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers logo Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Buccaneers sign quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick | May 19th, 2017

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have filled their hole at backup quarterback and signed veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. The exact terms of the deal has not yet been released.

Many people feel that the Buccaneers could have gone with Colin Kaepernick but, with Jameis Winston playing at a high level and being the future of the team there is no reason for the signing of Kap with the Buccaneers.

Last season, Ryan Fitzpatrick was hands down the worst quarterback in the league. Ryan Fitzpatrick finished the season with a 12-17 TD/INT ratio and a completion percentage of 56.6%. Ryan Fitzpatrick is currently in the Josh McCown phase of his career where he will be a veteran presence to a team and will await an opportunity to start if an injury occurs to Jameis Winston.

Pittsburgh Steelers logo Pittsburgh Steelers: Steelers release tight end Ladarius Green after failed physical | May 18th, 2017

The end of the line for Ladarius Green in Pittsburgh has officially ended and it’s the injury that is to blame for this.

Ladrius Green joined the Steelers in 2016 to finally get the opportunity at the starting role but an ankle injury put him on the PUP list to start the year and in the game against the Bengals, Green sustained a season-ending concussion and to this day really questioned his NFL career to this day.

Ladarius Green is still within the NFL’s concussion protocol and its a key possibility as to why he might have failed his physical with his team as lingering concussion symptoms could be lingering within him. It is very questionable if a team will be willing to take a shot with Ladarius due to his injury past.

Minnesota Vikings logo Minnesota Vikings: Vikings sign former Bears defensive lineman Will Sutton | May 17th, 2017

The Minnesota Vikings are looking to beef up their defensive line and they done so with the addition of Will Sutton.

Will Sutton is a former 3rd round pick during the Phil Emry Era in Chicago. Will Sutton’s time in Chicago did not pan well as he did not fit well in the Bears then 3-4 system and also an ankle injury last season rendering him to only 8 games.

Will Sutton has an outside chance of cracking the 53-man roster as he will be competing for one of few roster spots at the end of preseason.

Philadelphia Eagles logo Philadelphia Eagles: Eagles sign running back LeGarrette Blount | May 17th, 2017

LeGarrette Blount has finally landed a home and it will be with the Philadelphia Eagles.

This offseason the Philadelphia Eagles have done a good job adding pieces to their running back core. During the NFL Draft they added San Diego State star running back Donnel Pumphrey and signed Wisconsin running back Corey Clement as a UDFA and now Blount has been added to the roster.

LeGarrette Blount is joining the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year flier. Blount, 30, will be coming to Eagles team where he will get a nice bulk of carries even in a crowded backfield. The addition of Blount puts the roster spot of Ryan Mathews in danger as the Eagles will save $4 million against the cap with his release.

The Eagles have done a great job this offseason adding pieces to their roster to get this team back into the playoffs. With the addition of Blount, Jeffery, Derek Barnett and the help from Sidney Jones down the line the Eagles are looking at one of the best young and explosive teams for years to come.

Arizona Cardinals logo Arizona Cardinals: Cardinals linebacker Deon Buccanon undergoes ankle surgery | May 16th, 2017

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Deon Buccanon has undergone surgery on his ankle making his week 1 status up in the air.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians spoke to the media today and said that the surgery was to fix a “lingering issue and that he hopes to have him back in early September. There is always the concern that Buccanon will not be ready come week 1 and that will raise the decision of placing him on the PUP list to start the year, costing him the first six weeks off the season.

With Deon Buccanon out for the majority if all of training camp it will open the door for new Cardinals linebacker Haason Riddick to get more starting reps. Also, there is also an opportunity for others to play for depth position like Scooby Wright III and Gabe Martin. We will monitor this storyline down the line of training camp.

Los Angeles Chargers logo Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers release offensive lineman Orlando Franklin | May 15th, 2017

After two seasons into a HUGE five-year contract worth $36.5 million dollars. The Chargers decided to let go of Orlando Franklin.

At the time of the signing, it was a huge addition for the Chargers but in the end, it turned out to be a mediocre addition that just did not work. During his stint with the Chargers, Orlando Franklin was really rocky in his first season and in 2016 he missed six games with an ankle sprain and MCL sprain.

This offseason has been quite the buzz for the Chargers as they moved from San Diego to Los Angeles, new coaches and having a whole new renovation of their offensive line as they let former 1st rounder D.J. Fluker go to free agency. During the NFL Draft the Chargers added two top offensive linemen in Forrest Lamp and Dan Feeney to the team, bolstering the offensive line.

Orlando Franklin’s job was never rumored to be in danger, but the Chargers had to make a move today with the signing of Tre Boston to the team official and the offensive line better than it has been, Orlando Franklin was the odd man out. But for Franklin, he will keep all of his guaranteed money and with him being a top talent and probably the hottest free agent on the market right now, he should have no problem latching on with a new team.

Expect the Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Bengals and fellow LA team the Rams have possible interest in Franklin.

Chicago Bears logo Chicago Bears: Bears release wide receiver Eddie Royal | May 11th, 2017

After two seasons with the Chicago Bears the team made the right move in releasing Eddie Royal.

After finding success with the Chargers and wanting to have a bigger role with another team he landed with the Bears and it turned out to be a decision for the Bears. In two seasons with the Bears, Eddie Royal was limited to 18 games averaging 8.7 yards per reception.

Set to become 31 at the end of May, Eddie Royal’s time in the NFL could be coming to an end due to his track record of being injury prone and not becoming a factor. Eddie Royal’s entire $5 million dollar contract for 2017 has been voided.

Minnesota Vikings logo Minnesota Vikings: Vikings plan to use RBBC during Training Camp | May 11th, 2017

According to Andrew Kramer of the Minneapolis-Star, the Minnesota Vikings plan use a running back by committee during training camp.

The Minnesota Vikings have put themselves in a situation where they have a solid core of backs but will be using all of them to some capacity. The Vikings drafted Dalvin Cook and he is the favorite to get the majority of the carries but they also have their $4 million dollar investment in Latavius Murray. It is sounding like the Vikings plan to use Murray in short yardage situations and plan to use Jerick McKinnon in receiving situations.

This will be a storyline to keep tabs on once Vikings camp opens up.

Arizona Cardinals logo Arizona Cardinals: Cardinals sign quarterback Blaine Gabbert | May 10th, 2017

The Arizona Cardinals have added quarterback depth and have signed former 49ers quarterback Blaine Gabbert.

During the NFL Draft process, the Cardinals were linked to drafting a quarterback within the first two rounds with it being either DeShone Kizer out of Notre Dame or Patrick Mahomes out of Texas Tech, Arizona passed on a quarterback in the first round. With Kizer and Mahomes off the board by the Cardinals second pick in the draft, they decided to forgo drafting a quarterback in the draft.

The Cardinals are in a stage where they need to start a development project at quarterback and will likely look at the 2018 NFL Draft for that answer but in the meantime depth at quarterback is the answer. Blaine Gabbert sounds like the answer for now and will be entering training camp where he will be competing against backup quarterback Drew Stanton for the backup role to Carson Palmer.

Minnesota Vikings logo Minnesota Vikings: Vikings sign wide receiver Michael Floyd | May 10th, 2017

He is headed home! a native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Michael Floyd‘s lone interest on the free agent happens to be his hometown team the Minnesota Vikings.

Michael Floyd’s phone this offseason was now blown off the hook due in part of the concern of his off the field issues stemming from his final days with the Arizona Cardinals. Micahel Floyd was arrested for DUI in December 2016 and was waived by the Cardinals the following day just to be claimed the next day and become a non-factor in the Patriots Super Bowl winning season.

This offseason Floyd was punished with 124 days of house arrest among community service and time in Maricopa County Jail but it sounds like he completed his physical jail time and is finishing his house arrest so joining the Vikings will be on a bit of a delay.

Michael Floyd joins a Vikings team which is stacked top-to-bottom with talent from Stefon Diggs, Laquan Tredwell, Adam Thielen and Jarius Wright. Michael Floyd could be a guy that could come into Vikings and get a whole lot more red zone reps from the Vikings 2016 1st round selection Laquan Tredwell who was a non-factor in his rookie season.

Michael Floyd’s contract is really on a tryout basis as it is for one-year, $1.5 million but he could earn well up to $5 million dollars in incentives.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers logo Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Buccaneers not expected to sign Riley Cooper after a three-day tryout. | March 7th, 2017

After working out with the Buccaneers over the past three days, the Bucs decided not offer free agent wide receiver, Riley Cooper a contract. Cooper was brought in this week along with the Buccaneers rookies and undrafted free agents but did not impress the Buccaneers enough to garner a contract. Riley Cooper, 30, has not appeared in an NFL game since 2015 with the Eagles and with no team having much interest heading into 2017 it seems like his time in the league could have run its course.

Following the conclusion of the 49ers rookie minicamp, the 49ers decided to part ways with undrafted free agent out of Baylor, KD Cannon. KD Cannon shockingly went undrafted and became a sought after undrafted free agent following the draft and the 49ers were able to snag him. There has been no official word as to why the Niners decided to pass on him but, all is certain that pending any injuries or off the field issues he could easily land with a new team sooner rather than later.

San Francisco 49ers logo San Francisco 49ers: 49ers release backup running back Mike Davis | May 4th, 2017

The running back position for the 49ers has been an interesting topic heading into the draft and coming out of the draft. Before the draft, the 49ers were sounding like they were losing confidence in Carlos Hyde and planned on moving on from him due to his injury history. And post-draft, the 49ers added Utah Utes running back Joe Williams which lead to Mike Davis being cut from the team. Joe Williams will now become the 49ers new backup running back to Carlos Hyde as Mike Davis will now be searching for his new home. Mike Davis has been very limited in the two seasons spent with the 49ers as he totaled 108 rushing yards and 1 touchdown on 54 career carries. Mike Davis has great speed and can bounce off tackles and make the plays, he will easily be claimed by someone very soon.

Denver Broncos logo Denver Broncos: Broncos take a one-year flier on running back Jamaal Charles | May 3rd, 2017

This offseason saw the market for big time running backs like Jamaal Charles and Adrian Peterson take a bit of tumble. Jamaal Charles, this past season was still recovering from his ACL surgery back in 2015 and even took the field this past and it was obviously clear that he was nowhere near 100 percent. With the emergence of Charcandrick West as a reliable back, the Chiefs decided to call it quits with Charles after 9-seasons. Jamaal Charles will be joining the Broncos on a dime.

Jamaal Charles will be joining the Broncos on a dime (1 year, $1 million + incentives) where he will have to compete for a roster spot as the Broncos have C.J. Anderson, Devontae Booker, and Bernard Pierce on their depth chart. Charles can make $3.75 million in 2017 if he remains with Denver all season.

Arizona Cardinals logo Arizona Cardinals: Cardinals in talks with free agent quarterback Blaine Gabbert | May 3rd, 2017

During the last week’s NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals had every opportunity to select a quarterback to develop after the “Carson Palmer Era” is officially over in the coming in year or year’s. The Cardinals, who were linked to drafting DeShone Kizer on most draft boards decided to swerve us and go defense and select Budda Baker out of Washington. With no quarterback drafted the Cardinals could likely be looking at taking a one-year flier with a quarterback to bring into camp and compete with Drew Stanton for the backup job and Blaine Gabbert is sound like the Cardinals guy…For some reason.

Green Bay Packers logo Green Bay Packers: Packers release running back’s Don Jackson and Christine Michael | May 1st, 2017

The Green Bay Packers announced today that they have parted ways with running back Don Jackson and Christine Michael this morning. These moves were coming after the Packers selected three running back’s in the 2017 NFL Draft to get younger talent in their backfield. Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said that even with the three running backs selected Ty Montgomery will remain the starting running back for the team.

As for Jackson and Michael. Christine Michael is an aging running back who is looking at joining his 6th NFL team since being drafted. Don Jackson was a late spark last year when the Packers were extremely thin in the backfield but is coming off a broken hand injury. Both running backs could have limited markets.

Philadelphia Eagles logoPhiladelphia Eagles: Darren Sproles likely heading toward retirement after 2017 | May 1st, 2017

Per: The Philadelphia Inquirer. It has been said by Darren Sproles himself that he has been suggesting that 2017 will be his final season in the NFL. Darren Sproles, 33, is entering the 2017 season with the Eagles possibly doing a running back-by-committee for the upcoming season.

The Philadelphia Eagles are getting Ryan Mathews back this year after having neck and back injuries, the emergence of Wendell Smallwood and now newly drafted Donnell Pumphrey from San Diego State. Darren Sproles fits well with the Eagles and will remain a huge piece to their offense but this decision to possibly retire comes as a family decision but Sproles “wants that ring”.

New York Jets logo New York Jets: Jets wide receiver Devin Smith tears ACL; 2017 season over | May 1st, 2017

The New York Jets second-round selection back in 2015, Devin Smith will undergo his second career ACL surgery of his career. Devin Smith was a highly touted prospect coming out of Ohio State and the Jets expected big things from him, but it’s the injury bug that has hurt his career.

This ACL injury is the second major injury that has affected his career. In 2015, Smith was 10 games into his rookie season where he first tore his ACL In 2016, Smith started the season on the PUP list due to the knee and was limited to 4 games in his second season and now this. The receiving core in New York is going to be a questionable one down the line as Eric Decker is coming off a season where had hip and shoulder surgery.

Green Bay Packers logo Green Bay Packers: Packers came close to trading away Brett Hundley during the NFL Draft. | May 1st, 2017

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers were close to trading away Brett Hundley in Day 2 of the 2017 NFL Draft. Brett Hundley was a stud quarterback in college at UCLA and was drafted by the Packers a development piece behind the league’s best quarterback in Aaron Rodgers. While in Green Bay Hundley will remain a backup for as long as Aaron Rodgers is around or if Rodgers misses a game to injury, and even if he is injured Rodgers still plays. Rob Demovsky expects Brett Hundley to be traded at some point before he becomes a free agent in 2017.

Cleveland Browns logo Cleveland Browns: Browns release tight end Gary Barnidge. | April 28th, 2017

After drafting David Njoku near the conclusion of yesterday’s 1st round of the NFL Draft, the Browns added another big piece to try and bolster this offense with weapons. The Browns decided that Njoku will move forward as the Browns starting tight end and not Barnidge. Gary Barnidge is just 2-seasons removed from his impressive breakout season in 2015 where caught 79 receptions for 1,043 yards and 9 touchdowns. Gary Barnidge’s 2016 season was very lackluster due to the poor play at quarterback by the Browns making Gary a non-factor. Expect Gary Barnidge to re-surface with another team after the draft.

Oakland Raiders logo Oakland Raiders: Raiders acquire Marshawn Lynch from Seahawks for 2018 draft picks. | April 26th, 2017

A year away from football and now he is back. Marshawn Lynch was traded to the Raiders along with a 2018 6th round pick in exchange for the Raiders 2018 5th round pick. Marshawn Lynch, 31, is coming to an excellent opportunity in Oakland. Marshawn Lynch will be running behind one of the league’s best offensive line and probably the offensive line he is running behind in recent memory. Marshawn Lynch will also have that veteran presence on the roster at running back as the Raiders have young backs in Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington.

Green Bay Packers logo Green Bay Packers: Packers sign former Saints offensive lineman Jahri Evans. | April 26th, 2017

This is a big addition for the Packers as the Pack is really thin at right tackle as they lost T.J. Lang via free agency to division rival, Detroit Lions. Jahri Evans, 33, is an aging lineman that is likely going to be with the Packers for a short period of time as the Packers could address the offensive line within the first couple of rounds of tomorrow’s draft. But this addition is still solid as he adds a nice solid veteran presence to relatively young lineman and is a huge improvement over Don Barclay.

New Orleans Saints logo New Orleans Saints: Saints officially sign running back Adrian Peterson. | April 25th, 2017

Adrian Peterson is now opening up a new chapter in his life and it is with the New Orleans Saints. Since not getting his contract exercised for the 2017 season by the Minnesota Vikings for the 2017 season and rightfully so, Adrian Peterson’s market was so limited and it took him until today to find a role as a backup. Adrian Peterson will be joining a backfield that has solid talent in which he will be able to mentor running backs like Mark Ingram, Daniel Lasco and Travaris Cadet. It has been confirmed that even with Peterson on the roster he will not be the Saints starting running back and will be serving as a backup to Ingram. As for the Vikings, they are able to keep the $18 million dollars that would have been dished out to Peterson to return in 2017 and invest someplace else.

Arizona Cardinals logo Arizona Cardinals: The league reinstates linebacker Daryl Washington. | April 25th, 2017

Out of the league since spring 2014 due to the violation of the league’s substance abuse policy, Daryl Washington is returning to the Arizona Cardinals. This is the league’s second reinstation today as earlier today the league reinstated Steelers wide receiver, Martavis Bryant. Just because Washington is reinstated that does not mean he is out of the water. Daryl Washington was arrested for aggravated assault on his ex-girlfriend back in 2013 and even plead guilty in court for it. The league could look to address this but possibly at a later time.

Los Angeles Chargers logo Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers re-sign wide receiver, Dontrelle Inman. | April 25th, 2017

Dontrelle Inman stepped up in a big way for the Chargers last season when Keenan Allen went down with his ACL injury in week one. Last season, Inman served as the Chargers 3rd receiver on the depth chart playing behind Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin. Inman accumulated 810 yards and 4 touchdowns on 58 receptions. Inman will likely have a role increase in 2017 as the Chargers have moved on from Stevie Johnson this offseason, opening up playing time for Inman.

Minnesota Vikings logo Minnesota Vikings: Offensive lineman Jake Long announces retirement from football. | April 24th, 2017

A former first overall pick out of Michigan, Jake Long was a force in his first few seasons as a member of the Miami Dolphins but down the line injuries caught up to him. A number of injuries ranging from multiple ACL tears to torn biceps and back injuries derailed a really promising NFL career for Long. Jake Long ends his 8-year NFL career as a 4x Pro Bowler, 2010 First-team All-Pro, and 2009 Second-team All-Pro. Jake Long retires at the age of 31.

New England Patriots logo New England Patriots: Mike Gillislee joins Patriots after Bills fail to match offer sheet. | April 24th, 2017

Mike Gillislee entered this offseason as a restricted free agent and a return to Buffalo at one point was possible. Gillislee had a two-year, $6.4 million dollar offer sheet on the table for the Bills to match but the team decided against that and allow the Patriots to pick-up his rights. This is not the first time the Patriots picked up dropped former Bills players as last year the Patriots acquired Chris Hogan from Buffalo and made him into a legit receiver threat with the help from Tom Brady. The Buffalo Bills will acquire the Patriots 5th-round draft pick as compensation for not regaining Gillislee. Mike Gillislee joins an intensely crowded Patriots backfield where he will compete for reps alongside Rex Burkhead, Dion Lewis and Brandon Bolden. The re-signing of LeGarrette Blount is likely out of the picture at this point.

Indianapolis Colts logo Indianapolis Colts: Colts sign linebacker Jon Bostic. | April 19th, 2017

This is merely just a depth addition. Jon Bostic has had an injury-ridden past and the Colts are willing to take a flyer on him this offseason in hopes that he can add depth to the Colts linebacking core. He will most certainly have to compete for his roster spot.

Dallas Cowboys logo Dallas Cowboys: Cowboys sign former Bills defensive back Rob Blanton. | April 19th, 2017

The Dallas Cowboys are finally adding some depth to an already depleted defensive back’s core that lost so much this offseason. The former Notre Dame product, Rob Blanton, is in a situation in Dallas where he will have the opportunity to start. The Cowboys lost both Barry Church (Jaguars) and J.J. Wilcox (Buccaneers) in free agency leaving the team with holes at starting and depth wise. Blanton is an excellent depth addition to the team.

Chicago Bears logo Chicago Bears: Bears re-sign Sam Acho. | April 15th, 2017

Merely a depth move. Sam Acho has been serving as a Bears backup linebacker since 2015. The Bears continue to sign Acho on a year-to-year basis, signing one-year contracts in each of his last couple of seasons with the team.

Atlanta Falcons logo Atlanta Falcons: Longtime Falcons receiver Roddy White retires. | April 14th, 2017

This is the right time for Roddy White. The former 1st round selection was the Atlanta Falcons #1 receiver for a number of years until Julio Jones came onto the scene in 2011. During his 11-year career in the NFL White would have six straight 1,000+ yard seasons and appear in four Pro Bowl’s. White said the next phase of his life is spending time with his family and coach at the local area Atlanta high school Johns Creek to coach wide receivers and tight ends.

New York Jets logo New York Jets: Cornerback Nick Marshall suspended four games for PED violation. | April 14th, 2017

A former college quarterback converted to playing cornerback in the NFL. Nick Marshall will join fellow teammates Jalin Marshall (4 games – PED violation) and Austin Seferian-Jenkins (2 games – conduct policy violation) on the suspension list. Nick Marshall has been mainly used on special teams and served as depth at cornerback since coming into the league in 2015.

Tennessee Titans logo Tennessee Titans(AFC South): Titans release longtime corner Jason McCourty. | April 13th, 2017

It was a money situation. The Tennessee Titans and Jason McCourty could not come together on a restructured deal so it came down to the Titans letting Jason go. With the Titans releasing Jason McCourty the team saves $7 million dollars in cap space. The Titans now have an opening at free safety which will likely be addressed in the draft as there are rumors of team interest in LSU’s Jamal Adams and Ohio State’s Marshon Lattimore.

Indianapolis Colts logo Indianapolis Colts: Colts and Johnathan Hankins agree to 3-year, $30 million dollar deal. | April 13th, 2017

This has been a really back-and-fourth process as Hankins has been linked to possibly re-signing with the New York Giants but the Colts must have offered the most money. This is a great addition for the Colts as they have lost a lot on defense the last couple of seasons and adding Hankins could be an excellent player to build around with on the line. As for the Giants, they now have an open hole on their line which will likely have to be addressed in the draft or be open to having Jay Bromley or Damon Harrison starting at defensive tackle in 2017.

San Francisco 49ers logo San Francisco 49ers: 49ers to give up on running back Carlos Hyde? | April 12th, 2017

According to Draft Analyst Troy Pauline, the 49ers are rumored to be giving up on Carlos Hyde due to his injury driven past. Since coming into the league Hyde missed 14 games due to an MCL injury last season and finishing out the season injured reserve the season prior. If this rumor is true then the 49ers could easily address running back in the draft. This week the 49ers has been linked to drafting running back Leonard Fournette from LSU at #2 but that is also just a rumor. We will monitor his rumor closely.

Los Angeles Rams logo Los Angeles Rams: Ex-Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis announces his retirement. | April 12th, 2017

A former second-round selection out of Ohio State, the ceiling for James Laurinaitis was high coming into the league but like his statement says his “body say’s its time to move on“. From 2009-2014 James was the focal point of the team’s defense until Aaron Donald was drafted out of Pitt and took over that role and began a defensive rebuild, James was not a part of it and was released in February 2016. James Laurinaitis would later find his way onto the Saints but would finish the season on IR ending his 8 year NFL career. James Laurinaitis finishes his career with 663 tackles, 16.5 sacks, and 10 career interceptions.

Seattle Seahawks logo Seattle Seahawks: Seahawks take a one-year flier on Dion Jordan. | April 11th, 2017

Dion Jordan is still finding his ways onto teams even after off the field issues which got him suspended by the league. Dion Jordan’s latest NFL venture was with the Dolphins where he was suspended for 15-months for violation of the league’s drug policy. Dion Jordan had a chance to return to the Dolphins for the 2017 season but he failed his physical back in March. Dion Jordan now finds himself running out of options and the Seahawks are willing to take a chance with him, this could likely be his final opportunity to turn his career around.

Jacksonville Jaguars logo Jacksonville Jaguars: Jaguars release linebacker Dan Skuta.

Per Mike Kaye of First Coast News. This is strictly a salary move as the releasing of Skuta clears $4 million dollars in cap with his departure. Dan Skuta spent two seasons with the Jaguars after two seasons with the 49ers. During his tenure with the Jaguars, Skuta was limited to only being a backup linebacker and will likely continue to have that role with the next team he joins. Skuta finished his Jaguars career with 46 total tackles (9 assists) and 1.5 sacks. – April 11th, 2017

Philadelphia Eagles logo Philadelphia Eagles: Eagles sign former Raiders quarterback Matt McGloin. | April 10th, 2017

Matt McGloin entered free agency in hopes of latching on to a team where he will be able to compete for a starting gig but coming off an injury which saw him miss the Wild Card game pushed team’s away. McGloin is joining an Eagles team where he will be taking a further step back as he will be #3 on the depth chart and possibly be competing against a rookie quarterback that the Eagles could bring in via the draft.

Chicago Bears logo Chicago Bears: Bears release defensive back, Tracy Porter. | April 10th, 2017

Being a 28-game starter for the Bears over the last two seasons the Bears decide to move on from Porter. During his tenure with the Bears, Tracy Porter was inconsistent down the stretch of both seasons. This offseason the Bears signed Prince Amukamara who is a better option and consistent starter. Tracy Porter, 30, could be a depth addition to a roster.

Los Angeles Rams logo Los Angeles Rams: Rams waive wide receiver, Stedman Bailey. | April 10th, 2017

The career of Stedman Bailey came to an end on November 24th, 2015 when he was shot in a drive-by shooting in Miami Gardens, Florida. Stedman Bailey suffered bullet wounds to his head which resulted in him being put into a medically induced coma which saved his life. Stedman Bailey made a recovery from his wounds and returned to football but in a coaching capacity with the West Virginia Mountaineers. Bailey has likely found his new job going forward. Thank you, Stedman Bailey, for your services in the NFL, coach well coach.

San Francisco 49ers logo San Francisco 49ers: 49ers release DB Tramaine Brock for domestic violence arrest. | April 7th, 2017

Tramaine Brock was arrested on Thursday on a felony count of domestic violence after “visible” injuries were seen on Brock’s wife when police arrived on the scene. After the 49ers were first notified of the arrest the team announced they will be releasing Brock from his contract and rightfully so. Tramaine Brock is a talented player on the field and put up solid numbers last season for a struggling 49ers team, but this arrest is an automatic career killer and could very much be hard for him to get back into the league with this on his paper.

New Orleans Saints logo New Orleans Saints: New Orleans Saint cut Luke McCown. | April 5th, 2017

The New Orleans Saints have released quarterback Luke McCown. This was a move coming at some point and the Saints executed it today. The Saints found McCown expendable when they decided to bring back quarterback Chase Daniel this week. Daniel will serve as the backup which and with a #3 spot available the Saints could address it in the draft in the later rounds or bring in a development piece via free agency. Luke McCown, 36, could be picked up at some point but is nothing much but a veteran piece to a roster.

Philadelphia Eagles logo Philadelphia Eagles: Eagles acquire Ravens DL Timmy Jernigan. | April 4th, 2017

The Philadelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a deal that will send defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan and the #99th pick in the NFL Draft in exchange for the Eagles 3rd round (74th pick). Timmy Jernigan is nice addition to the Philadelphia Eagles who are now trying to re-develop their defensive line after parting ways with Bennie Logan (signed with Chiefs) and Connor Barwin (signed with Rams). We expect Timmy Jernigan to remain at defensive end and play on the other side of fellow newcomer Chris Long and Eagles vet Vinny Curry.

This is something that is completely coming from left field. Owa Odighizuwa was the Giants 3rd round pick in 2015 and has emerged mainly as depth upon the team’s defensive line. In two seasons with the Giants Owa Odighizuwa appeared in 18 games for the Giants and racking up a total of 3 tackles in two seasons. Owa has not counted out on returning to football at some point down the line.

Chicago Bears logo Chicago Bears: Bears waive defensive lineman Ego Ferguson. | March 31st, 2017

The Chicago Bears released defensive lineman Ego Ferguson. Throughout his NFL career, Ferguson has been hit with the injury bug and a run in with the league drug policy. In his three seasons in the league, Ferguson has appeared in 20 games and racked up a total of 13 tackles and 2 sacks. Ego Ferguson’s injury history could push team’s away from signing him so Ferguson will have to wait for an opportunity to arise.

The Minnesota Vikings agreed to terms with former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Case Keenum on one-year, $2 million dollar contract.
