Team logo Montreal Alouettes: Alouettes bring in former NFL quarterback Josh Freeman for a workout | June 14th, 2017

Quarterback Josh Freeman has been trying to get back into professional at some capacity over the past couple of seasons. Josh Freeman last played for the Indianapolis Colts during the 2015 NFL Season where he started the final game of the Colts season where he threw for 149 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception vs. Tennessee. Josh Freeman attended the Alouettes practice on Tuesday and Alouettes GM Kavis Reed was very impressed with Freeman saying “he showed tremendous arm strength, an excellent touch on the deep balls, and excellent footwork,”.

Kavis Reed continued to say that they would love to open up the season with 4 quarterbacks with Darian Durant at starter and Jacory Harris, Vernon Adams Jr and Matthew Shiltz behind him. With everything sounding good it will not surprise us that Freeman ends up with a contract with Montreal by the end of the week.

Team logo Winnipeg Blue Bombers: 11 players including quarterback Austin Apodaca released by Winnipeg | June 12th, 2017

Quarterback Austin Apodaca was signed by the Blue Bombers after he went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft and after no team offered him a chance in rookie minicamp. There really was never a promised roster for Apodaca as he is playing behind Matt NicholsDan LeFevour and Dominique Davis. Among the other players cut from the Blue Bombers are defensive back Terrence Frederick who made 9 starts for the team last season. Darrin Peterson, TJ Lowder, Quinshad Davis, Larry Raper, Kodi Kieler, Lawrence Virgil, Caleb Bostic, George Stone and Tahaan Goodman have all been cut.

Team logo Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Ticats sign former Argos quarterback Logan Kilgore | June 12th, 2017

The Ticats have signed former Toronto Argonauts quarterback Logan Kilgore. The Tiger-Cats don’t have the most solid of depth behind as they carry Jeremiah Masoli and Everette Golson. Logan Kilgore struggled mightily last season as he finished the season with 2/10 TD-INT ratio for 728 passing yards while completing 55.3 % of his passes. In a post-practice interview, it sounds like they are slowly working Kilgore into the Ticats offense. Zach Collaros is the starting quarterback as Kilgore will likely follow as backup then by Masoli.
