This offseason, Jarvis Landry of the Miami Dolphins officially became a free agent and with so much going on around his name this offseason we decided to do a tracker of his market. Below you can see a timeline as well as thoughts from our staff as everything transpires.
March 3rd, 2018 (Tennessee Titans interested in Landry?): According to Jason Wolf of the Nashville Tennessean, the Titans have been listed as a preferred destination for Jarvis Landry this offseason. Jason Wolf would continue by saying that the Tennessee Titans have not contacted the Dolphins in regards to acquiring Landry so at this point it will remain just a preferred destination for Juice.
March 3rd, 2018 (Carolina Panthers not interested in Landry): According to Charlotte Observer writer Joe Person, the Carolina Panthers are not interested in acquiring Jarvis Landry. The reason for this is that the Panthers are looking for a wide receiver with more top-end speed according to Person. The Panthers will pass on Landry and possibly look into the upcoming draft and add a receiver.
March 2nd, 2018 (Multiple teams expressing interest in Jarvis Landry): With the Chicago Bears having been the team heavily linked to Jarvis Landry so far you can now add the 49ers, Browns and Ravens to the list. This was reported by Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post via his official Twitter account. Both Browns and 49ers are looking to add a #1 wide receiver and Landry fits the build. I can see Landry heading to Cleveland if he is chasing money as the Browns don’t have a promising quarterback at this time. Should Landry head to San Francisco, the 49ers would add a huge piece to a rebuilding franchise. The 49ers already locked up Jimmy G. they now need to arm that offense with targets for him and Jarvis Landry would be an excellent fit in San Francisco.
March 2nd, 2018 (Chicago Bears a suitor for Jarvis Landry?): The Miami Dolphins announced that they will allow Jarvis Landry to test the trade market late Thursday night. There is sure to be a big market for Jarvis Landry and the Chicago Bears could be one of the teams in the mix. The Bears have such poor depth at wide receiver as Kevin White has not lived up to his expectations, Kendall Wright is average and Markus Wheaton is a free agent bust so far. The possible addition of Landry is an excellent start in possibly rebuilding of their receiving core in to help Mitchell Trubisky for the future. (Source: Miami Herald)
March 1st, 2018 (Dolphins allow Jarvis Landry to seek a trade): According to Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins have given Jarvis Landry a thumbs up to seek a trade this offseason. This is a sign that the Dolphins are clearly allowing Jarvis Landry to move on this offseason. The market is sure to be huge for Jarvis Landry this offseason and he will look for a team where he can remain his #1 wide receiver status.
February 20th, 2018: The Miami Dolphins have placed their franchise tag on Jarvis Landry.
