Complete draft results of the 2019 NFL Draft.
FIRST ROUND:
1st Overall: Arizona Cardinals: Cardinals select quarterback Kyler Murray, Oklahoma
-
Authors Take: The writing has been on the wall for a while with this selection. The former Heisman Trophy winner will be surrounded with solid offensive weapons in Larry Fitzgerald, Christain Kirk, and David Johnson as he will very much take over the helm as Josh Rosen could be on the way out during the draft.
2nd Overall: San Francisco 49ers select defensive lineman Nick Bosa, Ohio State
-
Authors Take: The San Francisco 49ers are putting together one hell of a defensive line and now adding Joey Bosa’s younger brother Nick to the mix it’s the icing on the cake. The 49ers will now function with Bosa, Arik Armstead, and DeForest Buckner. Rumors have swirled that the 49ers could possibly be open to trading third-year lineman Solomon Thomas but no trade talks have materialized yet.
3rd Overall: New York Jets select defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, Alabama
4th Overall: Oakland Raiders select defensive lineman Clelin Ferrell, Clemson
5th Overall: Tampa Bay Buccaneers select linebacker Devin White, LSU
6th Overall: New York Giants select quarterback Daniel Jones, Duke
-
Authors Take: Overall this is shocking… Yes, the New York Giants are one of those quarterback-needy teams and they could have been in play for Cardinals Josh Rosen but decided against and will rebuild at quarterback with Daniel Jones after Eli Manning.
7th Overall: Jacksonville Jaguars select linebacker Josh Allen, Kentucky
8th Overall: Detroit Lions select tight end T. J. Hockenson, Iowa
-
Authors Take: The Detroit Lions have not had a productive tight end since the Eric Ebron day’s and even still that had it’s up’s and downs.
9th Overall: Buffalo Bills select defensive tackle Ed Oliver, Houston
10th Overall: Pittsburgh Steelers select linebacker Devin Bush, Michigan (TRADED PICK FROM BRONCOS)
11th Overall: Cincinnati Bengals select offensive tackle Jonah Williams, Alabama
12th Overall: Green Bay Packers select defensive end Rashan Gary, Michigan
13th Overall: Miami Dolphins select defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, Clemson
14th Overall: Atlanta Falcons select offensive guard Chris Lindstrom, Boston College
15th Overall: Washington Redskins select quarterback Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State
-
Authors Take: We are in agreeance with Dwayne Haskins post-selection comments… Dwayne Haskins was ahead of Duke’s Daniel Jones in most people’s mock draft but the Giants decided Jones was a better option over Haskins. The Redskins are in dire need of a quarterback with Alex Smith’s career up in the clouds due to his serious leg injury suffered last season. Haskins will join Colt McCoy in Washington.
16th Overall: Carolina Panthers select linebacker Brian Burns, Florida State
17th Overall: New York Giants select defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, Clemson (TRADED PICK FROM BROWNS)
18th Overall: Minnesota Vikings select center Garrett Bradbury, N.C. State
19th Overall: Tennessee Titans select defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, Mississippi State
20th Overall: Denver Broncos select tight end Noah Fant, Iowa (TRADED PICK FROM STEELERS)
21st Overall: Green Bay Packers select safety Darnell Savage Jr., Maryland (TRADED PICK FROM SEAHAWKS)
22nd Overall: Philadelphia Eagles select offensive tackle Andre Dillard, Washington State (TRADED PICK FROM RAVENS)
23rd Overall: Houston Texans select offensive tackle Tytus Howard, Alabama State
24th Overall: Oakland Raiders select running back Josh Jacobs, Alabama (TRADED PICK FROM BEARS)
-
Authors Take: The Oakland Raiders are thin at running back with the retirement of Marshawn Lynch this offseason. The Oakland Raiders selected Alabama’s, Josh Jacobs. In his career at Bama, Jacobs has dealt with injuries as a sophomore and would later breakout as a junior rushing for 640 yards and 11 touchdowns. Jacob’s improved his draft stock during his Pro Day. Jacobs could very well get a nice bulk of carries his rookie season in Oakland.
25th Overall: Baltimore Ravens select wide receiver Marquise Brown, Oklahoma (TRADED PICK FROM EAGLES)
-
Authors Take: The first receiver is off the board and falls to the team who needs receiver help the most. The Ravens are very thin at receivers and are in need of playmakers. The speedy Marquise Brown could be the playmaker the Ravens have been calling for at the receiver position in quite some time.
26th Overall: Washington Redskins select defensive end Montez Sweat, Mississippi State (TRADED PICK FROM COLTS)
27th Overall: Oakland Raiders select safety Johnathan Abram, Mississippi State (TRADED PICK FROM COWBOYS)
28th Overall: Los Angeles Chargers select defensive tackle Jerry Tillery, Notre Dame
-
Authors Take: The Los Angeles Chargers are repairing their interior defensive line with Corey Liuget, Darius Philon and Damion Square all departed. The Chargers once again strike gold in drafting Tillery late in the first round. Tillery can function in both 3-4 and 4-3 defensives with 4-3 being the scheme Gus Bradley run’s in Los Angeles.
29th Overall: Seattle Seahawks select defensive end L.J. Collier, TCU (TRADED PICK FROM CHIEFS)
30th Overall: New York Giants select cornerback Deandre Baker, Georgia (TRADED PICK FROM SAINTS VIA PACKERS/SEAHAWKS)
31st Overall: Atlanta Falcons select offensive tackle Kaleb McGary, Washington (TRADED PICK FROM LA RAMS)
32nd Overall: New England Patriots select wide receiver N’Keal Harry, Arizona State
-
Authors Take: This was the right move by the New England Patriots. The Patriots entered the draft with the need of adding new targets for Tom Brady with Rob Gronkowski retiring, Josh Gordon’s return to football unknown and Danny Amendola and Chris Hogan gone in free agency. The rebuilding of the receiving core will begin with Arizona State’s N’Keal Harry who was stout in his time at Arizona State. Hopefully, Harry pans out as past ASU’s receivers who made it to the NFL have stayed long in the league.
SECOND ROUND:
33rd Overall: Arizona Cardinals select cornerback Byron Murphy, Washington
-
Authors Take: Taking a cornerback was a must as the Arizona Cardinals cleared house of a number of corners last year and with Patrick Peterson entering a contract season and on shakey-grounds with the team, time to add to the position.
34th Overall: Indianapolis Colts select cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, Temple
35th Overall: Jacksonville Jaguars select offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor, Florida
36th Overall: San Francisco 49ers select wide receiver Deebo Samuel, South Carolina
37th Overall: Carolina Panthers select offensive tackle Greg Little, Ole Miss
38th Overall: Buffalo Bills select offensive tackle Cody Ford, Oklahoma
39th Overall: Tampa Bay Buccaneers select cornerback Sean Bunting, Central Michigan
40th Overall: Oakland Raiders select cornerback Trayvon Mullen, Clemson
41st Overall: Denver Broncos select offensive tackle Dalton Risner, Kansas State
42nd Overall: Denver Broncos select quarterback Drew Locke, Missouri
-
Authors Take: Another big pick by the Denver Broncos. Dalton Risner now Drew Locke, their future franchise quarterback. Joe Flacco’s addition looks like a bridge-quarterback for Locke in the coming season or so.
43rd Overall: Detroit Lions select linebacker Jahlani Tavai, Hawaii
44th Overall: Green Bay Packers select center Elgton Jenkins, Mississippi State
45th Overall: New England Patriots select cornerback Joejuan Williams, Vanderbilt
46th Overall: Cleveland Browns select cornerback Greedy Williams, LSU
47th Overall: Seattle Seahawks select safety Marquise Blair, Utah
48th Overall: New Orleans Saints select center Erik McCoy, Texas A&M
49th Overall: Indianapolis Colts select linebacker Ben Banogu, Texas Christian
50th Overall: Minnesota Vikings select tight end Irv Smith Jr., Alabama
51st Overall: Tennessee Titans select wide receiver A.J. Brown, Ole Miss
52nd Overall: Cincinnati Bengals select tight end Drew Sample, Washington
53rd Overall: Philadelphia Eagles select running back Miles Sanders, Penn State
54th Overall: Houston Texans select cornerback Lonnie Johnson Jr., Kentucky
55th Overall: Houston Texans select offensive tackle Max Scharping, Northern Illinois
56th Overall: Kansas City Chiefs select wide receiver Mecole Hardman, Georgia
-
Authors Take: Well Tyreek Hill is on thin ice with the Chiefs. Hardman’s addition could very well be a story to be on the look out for after the conclusion of Hill’s case.
57th Overall: Philadelphia Eagles select wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Stanford
58th Overall: Dallas Cowboys select defensive tackle Trysten Hill, UCF
59th Overall: Indianapolis Colts select wide receiver Parris Campbell, Ohio State
60th Overall: Los Angeles Chargers select defensive back Nasir Adderley, Delaware
-
Authors Take: The Los Angeles Chargers needed to find a replacement for recently cut Jaleel Addae and they found that in Adderley. Adderley was once poised to be selected in the first round but he fell out of the 1st and landed on the lap of the Chargers late in the second. Adderley will play next to Derwin James as the team’s new starting free safety.
61st Overall: Los Angeles Rams select defensive back Taylor Rapp, Washington
62nd Overall: Arizona Cardinals select wide receiver Andy Isabella, UMass
-
Authors Take: I would suggest the Arizona Cardinals building along their offensive line but adding more targets for newly drafted Kyler Murray is a must. Taking D.K. Metcalf at this position would have been another option but Isabella really shined during the Senior Bowl.
63rd Overall: Kansas City Chiefs select defensive back Juan Thornhill, Virginia
64th Overall: Seattle Seahawks select wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, Ole Miss
- Authors Take: FINALLY! The drop of Metcalf has ended with Seattle. Rumors are swirling out of Seattle that Doug Baldwin is considering retirement due to a number of injuries sustained in his career and Metcalf’s addition could be to possibly replace him if he does hang them up. The Seattle Seahawks snagged a draft steal and possibly the best receiver in the draft.
