Minor League Report (May 19th, 2019): Odrisamer Despaigne, Gerardo Reyes, Cameron Rupp

Some of the latest Minor League Baseball news from May 18th, 2019.

Odrisamer Despaigne (White Sox): The Chicago White Sox and relief pitcher Odrisamer Despaigne have agreed to terms on minor league contract. Odrisamer Despaigne, 32, signed with the Cincinnati Reds during the offseason but recently opt out of his contract with the team. Despaigne is rumored to possibly join the White Sox rotation this week after pitcher Manny Banuelos went down with an injury.


Gerardo Reyes (Padres): The San Diego Padres demoted pitcher Gerardo Reyes. Reyes played in five relief innings for San Diego in which he surrendered 10 earned runs in those innings. Reyes will be optioned to AAA-El Paso. San Diego also optioned pitcher Nick Margevicius to AA-Amarillo.


Cameron Rupp (Athletics): The Oakland Athletics and free agent catcher Cameron Rupp agreed to terms on a minor league contract. Cameron Rupp, 30, is coming off a stint with the Detroit Tigers who released him on Thursday. Cameron Rupp will continue to be used as minor league depth within the Athletics system.
