Five days after signing a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Travis d’Arnaud has been traded out of LA and to Tampa Bay for cash considerations.
For the last year, d’Arnaud has been battling injuries which included Tommy John Surgery back in April 2018 which eventually led to him being out with the New York Mets. After failing to sign with a team during spring training, d’Arnaud resurfaced a few days ago with the Dodgers. d’Arnaud would have only one at-bat appearance with the Dodgers before being traded.
Travis d’Arnaud, 30, will serve as catching depth as the team recently placed Mike Zunino on IL with a quadriceps injury. Nick Ciuffo will continue to get the bulk of the starts.
