Buffalo Bills: Bills name Nathan Peterman starting quarterback vs. Ravens

  • Entering his sophomore season, Nathan Peterman is being named week one starter over rookie quarterback Josh Allen. The Buffalo Bills made changes at quarterback in the last week with the trade of A.J. McCarron to the Oakland Raiders. This preseason, the Bills were running really high on rookie Josh Allen who was solid in his preseason outing’s but Nathan Peterman was also just as impressive. This is a smart move for the Bills as they will not rush Allen to the starting but we do expect him to garner a couple of starts at some point this season. (Source: Buffalo Bills on Twitter)

Denver Broncos: Broncos name rookie running back Royce Freeman starter

  • Rookie running back Royce Freeman made the best of his opportunities this preseason and now sits as the lead back on the Broncos depth chart. During the preseason, Freeman was battling running back Devonte Booker for the starting role and it was Freeman who came out in the end. Freeman will start with Booker following behind him leaving Phillip Lindsay as the #3 back on the Broncos depth chart. (Source: Ryan O’Halloran)

Cleveland Browns: Browns to start Antonio Callaway over Josh Gordon Sunday

  • Josh Gordon has been dealing with a hamstring injury for quite some time which lead to the decision for the Browns to start Callaway over Gordon. With Callaway getting the start we should still see Gordon get a fair amount reps on Sunday. (Source: Nate Ulrich)

Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers officially added Antonio Gates, waived Justin Jackson

  • It took till the end of the preseason but AG85 is back in navy blue and white. The Chargers were thin at tight end with Hunter Henry going down for supposedly the entire year but the Chargers, in crunch time, made a deal with Gates. As for Justin Jackson, he was waived to make room for Gates after he was found expendable due to the fact that undrafted free agent Detrez Newsome beat him out for #3 duties.
