According to Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle, Houston Cougars junior quarterback D’Eriq King is out for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury sustained in Thursday’s win over Tulane.
D’Eriq King sustained the injury on a non-contact play in the second quarter of the game after he handed the ball off to his running back. Following the play, King quickly limped over to the sidelines and was out for the remainder of the game, tearing his meniscus.
D’Eriq King had a fantastic junior season as he finished the season off with phenomenal numbers as he has totaled 50 touchdowns (34 passing/14 rushing) this season along with what was sure to be an over 3,000 yard passing season he finished the season with 2,982.
True freshman quarterback Clayton Tune will finish out the 2018 regular season as starting quarterback.
