According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman will miss the remainder of the season due to an LCL injury that will require surgery sustained in Sunday’s win vs. Oakland.
The loss of Perryman will hit the Chargers hard as he has been the team’s key piece and reliable linebacker in the middle of the defense. This season, Perryman’s presence was well known as he played in over 60% of the team’s snaps which resulted in him totaling 51 tackles and 1 interception in 9 games with the Bolts this season.
The Chargers could very well keep the replacement of Perryman an in-house ordeal as the free agent linebacker market does not offer much. The Chargers could turn to Kyle Emanuel or Hayes Pullard for the remainder of the season. Perryman will become a free agent at seasons end.
