Green Bay Packers Waive Defensive Back Jermaine Whitehead

Over the past two weeks, Whitehead’s performance in games has taken a step back.

Two weeks ago vs. Los Angeles, he was blown in coverage by Rams running back Todd Gurley and then this past week he was in the news for throwing a punch at Patriots center David Andrews.

This move does not make much sense as he has been one of the team’s better defensive backs and with Clinton-Dix being traded; now is not the time to be cutting players. Whitehead could get some looks on waivers for depth needy teams.
