Sources have confirmed that Bowling Green has fired their head football coach Mike Jinks after 2 1/2 seasons with the team.
Mike Jinks, 46, joined Bowling Green after serving three-years as Texas Tech’s running back coach. But his transition has not turned out as planned. During the time he coached the Falcons, Jinks led the team to a 7-24 record with win number seven coming this year vs. Eastern Kentucky (42-35 win).
Taking over for the Falcons will be the team’s defensive coordinator Carl Pelini who joined the team this offseason from Youngstown State.
The Falcons currently sit at 1-6 on the year and will play the Ohio Bobcats in Pelini’s debut as head coach for Bowling Green.
