BYU Cougars: Cougars Moving On From Quarterback Tanner Mangum

The Salt Lake Tribune has reported that the BYU Cougars are moving forward without Tanner Mangum at quarterback.

This past Saturday, BYU had a very disappointing out against the Utah State Aggies and Magnum did not help his cause to remain starting quarterback. Saturday vs. Utah State, Mangum was not consistent enough as he completed 27 of 45 passes for 270 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. This inconsistent outing did it in for the BYU coaching staff and make a change.

Going forward, the Cougars will turn to former USC Trojans converted wide receiver to quarterback Zach Wilson. This will be Wilson’s first start of his career while Mangum will serve as his backup. Wilson’s first test will be against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on Saturday.
