Temple Owls: Anthony Russo Named Starting Quarterback Going Forward

According to The Sports Desk, Temple sophomore quarterback Anthony Russo was named starting quarterback going forward.

Temple opened up the season with senior quarterback Frank Nutile as the starting quarterback but due to an injury, it cost him his starting job. In Nutile’s absence, Russo has struggled as he has completed only 46.8% of his passes with 1 touchdown and 5 interceptions in four games this season.

The Temple Owls are strongly backing Russo despite his early struggles but it would not come as a surprise should the Owls go back to Nutile if the struggles continue.

Temple plays East Carolina on Saturday.
