Texas Tech Red Raiders freshman quarterback Alan Bowman suffered a collapsed lung in Saturday’s loss to West Virginia.
In the second quarter of Saturday’s game, Bowman took a sandwich hit between two West Virginia defensive players which collapsed his lung. Bowman was later transported to a local hospital where he stayed overnight and treated his injuries. There is currently no timetable for his return to the field.
So far this season, Alan Bowman has thrown for 1680 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, 3 interceptions and a completion percentage of 69.3.
Going forward, Red Raiders head coach Kliff Kingsbury has not named a starting quarterback but sophomore quarterback Joe Duffey filled in for Bowman when he went down Saturday. McLane Carter could also be in the mix for the starting job.
Texas Tech is currently on an off week but plays TCU next Thursday and Kansas following that game.
