According to a number of sources, former Ring of Honor Television Champion Punishment Martinez has finished up his ROH dates and could very well be headed to the WWE.
During Ring of Honor’s T.V. tapings that took place on September 29th, Punishment dropped his T.V. title to Jeff Cobb. This marked the end of his dates with the promotions after three-years with the promotion.
Punishment Martinez spent three-years with Ring of Honor debuting back in 2015 during ROH’s Top Prospect Tournament. In the tournament, Martinez defeated Colby Carino but lost in the semi-finals to now WWE’s Lio Rush. Following the tournament, Martinez was signed to ROH and began working BJ Whitmer and Kevin Sullivan and feuding with former ROH Tag champions War Machine. In 2017, Martinez won the Survival of the Fittest Tournament defeating Flip Gordon, Silas Young, Jonathan Gresham, Shane Taylor and Matt Taven in a six-way elimination match. This year, Martinez defeated then T.V. Champion Silas Young at State of the Art to win the title, later dropping it to Cobb.
There is no official word by WWE on the signing but F4WOnline confirms that he is headed to WWE.
