College Football Notes: July 31st, 2018 (Ross Trail & Patrick McClure)

Arkansas State Red Wolves: Former Cincinnati QB Ross Trail transfers to Arkansas St.

This was a move that went unannounced after the Bearcats just finished up their spring camp. Ross Trail, junior, spent three seasons at Cincinnati, playing sparingly, he now finds himself playing behind Justice Hanson who is coming off a tremendous 2017 campaign. Trail will compete for the starting role next season as he will sit-out 2018 due to NCAA transfer regulations. (Source: Arkansas Red Wolves Team Site)

Clemson Tigers: Ex-Jacksonville QB Patrick McClure transfers/walks-on to Clemson

The former 2017 two-star recruit Patrick McClure transfers to Clemson to continue his career after leaving Jacksonville last summer. McClure was a two-star recruit last year from South Carolina and did receive “mild” interest from Clemson during his recruitment. McClure will be behind Kelly Bryant and freshman Trevor Lawrence.
