Pro Football Transactions: December 24th, 2018

Here are today’s biggest news from around the world of professional football.

National Football League:

Miami Dolphins: Miami Herald are predicting that the Dolphins won’t resign Jarvis Landry

  • Armando Salguero‏ tweeted that he is guessing that the Dolphins will allow Jarvis Landry test the free agent market once free agency opens. Jarvis Landry is demanding a 13-14 million dollars and that amount could be a little bit out of reach for the Miami Dolphins. Should the Dolphins fail to re-sign Jarvis Landry this offseason, the team will move on with DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills, but this would not count out the team looking at drafting another receiver during the upcoming draft. It would not come as a surprise should team’s like the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears pursue him this offseason.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Jaguars planning on using the franchise tag on Allen Robinson?

  • Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, predicts that the Jacksonville Jaguars will place a franchise tag on Allen Robinson this offseason should they not agree to a multi-year contract. Allen Robinson, 24, went down with a Torn ACL vs. Houston in week one this season, costing him the entire 2017 season. Allen Robinson is expected to be back and ready to go come training camp so getting a deal done and having Bortles favorite target ready to go come week one in 2018 will be key. The Jaguars could also be in the market for a wide receiver come draft day as the team could save money should they release Allen Hurns this offseason.

Coaching Changes:

  • Arizona Cardinals: Cardinals signed former Carolina Panthers linebackers coach Al Holcomb as defensive coordinator. He joins new Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks on his coaching staff.

  • Los Angeles Rams: Rams hire former UCLA offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch as a senior offensive assistant.
