Here are the latest transactions from around the National Football League on December 19th.
Houston Texans: Texans place Tom Savage on injured reserve, ending his season.
- During week 14, Tom Savage sustained a concussion which lead to him missing this past Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In replacement of Savage, the Houston Texans will turn to T.J. Yates from the remainder of the season with Taylor Heinicke serving as his backup. Tom Savage is currently in a contract year with the Texans and it could be bleak that Savage returns to the Texans in 2018.
Green Bay Packers: Packers place Aaron Rodgers on injured reserve, ending his season.
- In his return game from his broken collarbone injury, Aaron Rodgers was not the old Aaron Rodgers. In Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, Aaron Rodgers threw three interceptions and was out of sync a bit. With the Packers being eliminated from the playoffs with the loss and with really nothing to lose the team will re-return to Brett Hundley as starting quarterback for the remaining two games. Aaron Rodgers should be ready to go by training camp.
Los Angeles Chargers: Chargers place Hunter Henry on injured reserve, ending his season.
- In the Chargers very hurty Saturday game against Kansas City, Hunter Henry sustained a small laceration to his kidney. Hunter Henry’s status for the remaining season remained up in the air and today we heard his fate. 2017 was a huge season for Hunter Henry as he caught 45 receptions for 579 yards and four touchdowns. Going forward, Antonio Gates will start at tight end with Sean McGrath backing him up.
