Chicago Cubs Checking In On Free Agent Brandon Morrow
Coming off a great 2017 regular season and very horrendous postseason, the Chicago Cubs are checking in on free agent pitcher Brandon Morrow.
In 2017, Brandon Morrow had himself a turnaround season after his 2016 was cut to only 18 games due to elbow inflammation that kept him out until August. Brandon Morrow would finish 2016 with the Padres, becoming a free agent during the winter, sign a minor league contract with the team after the season but later be dropped by the team and later sign with the Dodgers for 2017.
During the 2017 season, Brandon Morrow pitched in 45 games posting a 4-0 record, 2.06 ERA, 2 saves and 50 strikeouts. The Chicago Cubs are monitoring the relief pitcher market this winter as they have been linked to Addison Reed and a potential trade for Zach Britton. Brandon Morrow should receive a nice payday this offseason after a spectacular season last year. MLB Trade Rumors Tim Dierkes predicts a three-year contract roughly around $24 million for Morrow this offseason.
