Drew Stanton Out For Week 11 Due To Sprained Knee, Gabbert To Start
Carson Palmer out, Drew Stanton out the Arizona Cardinals are being depleted with injuries and depth at quarterback.
According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Drew Stanton sustained a sprained knee in Thursday Night’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Drew Stanton was able to finish the night with a stat line of 24/47, 273 yards and 1/0 TD-INT ratio. Drew Stanton is rumored to be missing week 11 but could also miss week 12 pending how he feels in a week.
Next week the Arizona Cardinals take on the Houston Texans and will go with quarterback Blaine Gabbert as the starter. The Arizona Cardinals did an emergency signing of Matt Barkley this afternoon to fill out the depth chart for next week’s game vs. Houston despite having Mike Bercovici on their practice squad. Despite the signing of Barkley, Bercovici could possibly be added as a #3 quarterback but could be unlikely since Stanton’s injury is short-term. We will see what develops during this coming week of practice.
The Cardinals currently sit at 4-5 on the season.
