Marlins Looking To Trade Stanton, Gordon and Prado As Way To Cut Team’s Payroll

New ownership lead by former Yankees captain Derek Jeter wanted to cut payroll by $90 million this offseason meaning they will become sellers this offseason.

Stanton, Prado and Gordon are due $50 million in payroll in 2018 not including the other members of the roster. Since the news of wanting to cut payroll, teams more notably the San Francisco Giants have emerged as possible trade partners to acquire Stanton, who carries the biggest salary of the bunch. The Marlins are set to become sellers and begin a whole new re-build for the organization.
