Speaking to the media Monday afternoon, Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said that he is “absolutely” sticking with quarterback Trevor Siemian going forward.
The Denver Broncos faced the Los Angeles Chargers yesterday and the team continued its struggling ways, including Siemian. Against Los Angeles, Trevor Siemian completed 25 of 35 passes for 207 yards and 0 touchdowns and 1 interception. Now, the stat line does not sound bad but Siemian’s performance was bad as he was sacked five times and could have been picked off 4 times but was able to avoid that.
Vance Joseph said that the problems don’t fall on Trevor Siemian but more on blocking and that they “are not blocking well”. Entering the game against Los Angeles, the Broncos were depleted at the offensive line position as they were not with Donald Stephenson (calf) and recently they lost Menelik Watson also to a calf injury so depth along the Broncos offensive line was scarce. The Broncos will need to get back on track with their offensive line as they will continue their road series as they will play Kansas City next Monday night and the New England the following week. Crucial two weeks ahead for the Broncos.
