Arizona Cardinals have announced that they have placed offensive lineman Mike Iupati on injured-reserve after a bone spur has been discovered in his elbow, requiring surgery.
This is a crucial blow to the Arizona Cardinals offensive line which has been rocky in recent weeks. Mike Iupati has missed the last three games for the Cardinals due to an elbow injury sustained in the Cardinals week one loss to the Detroit Lions. Since the Detroit game, Mike Iupati has missed the last two games due to the injury but now the bone spur has emerged which will require surgery and have him miss 8-games after being placed on injured reserve.
The Arizona Cardinals are in serious trouble as the team with Iupati being out and now reports are saying that D.J. Humphries and Alex Boone are both sounding like they will not suite up this week vs. San Francisco. The Arizona Cardinals are so depleted on the offensive line that the team could very likely promote rookie Dorian Johnson from the practice squad just to have depth this week according to Pro Football Talk. It will be an interesting to see how the Cardinals work under the pressure from such a depleted line against a solid pass rush by a young 49ers defensive line.
