According to Nevada Wolfpack beat writer Chris Murray, the Wolfpack will start junior quarterback Ty Gangi on Saturday against Fresno State.
The 0-4 Nevada Wolfpack once started the season with Ty Gangi at quarterback but later flipped their decision and had freshman quarterback Kaymen Cureton and David Cornwell play the last two games, both did not push the program into the winning spotlight.
Following practice on Monday, Nevada quarterback Jay Norvell spoke to the media and immediately named Ty Gangi starter once again. “We’ve had four games and we’ve learned a lot about our football team, we know a lot more of what our guys are capable of doing. We’re going to play Ty Gangi at quarterback this week and KC will back him up. We still want to play KC some and keep bringing him along. We feel like we’ll make some certain adjustments we need to make as a team to be competitive and win right now.”
Junior, Ty Gangi, statistically has been the better quarterback of the three as leads the team in passing yards with 476 and passing touchdowns with 4. Saturday’s game will be a test for Nevada and their air-raid offense as they will be taking on a Fresno State team who in recent weeks have been burned in the passing game, well on defense in general, having given up 89 points to opposing offenses.
