Mayweather Guarantees Great Bout With McGregor!

On August 26, 2017 there is going to be a show down between two of the biggest names in combat sports today. Former UFC champ(in two weight classes) Irish superstar, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor will battle American boxing legend, Floyd “Money” Mayweather in a boxing match. If you haven’t heard about this fight yet, it’s because you either don’t follow combat sports, or you lived under a rock. This is one of the biggest hyped and published fights in combat sports history.
The two fighters have each made several comments in build up to the fight. Some of those comments being very controversial at times. However recent comments by the two have made many fans, very interested. McGregor recently said that he would, “knock him(Mayweather) out in the first four rounds.” Mayweather said recently he would, “go at Conor McGregor” when the two meet in the ring.
Mayweather most recently added to the build up. On August 10, 2017 Mayweather hosted a Media Workout at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. During which Mayweather made it perfectly clear that his fight against McGregor is the biggest in fight history. Mayweather said, “This isn’t just a fight, this is an event. We both owe the fans and everyone tuning in a lot of excitement. That’s what we’re there to give them.”
Mayweather said that he feels like he owes something to fans who were disappointed with his last major bout with Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather explained that he has a talent for making the best fighters look like normal guys. Many fans of combat sports felt that the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight didn’t live up to it’s hype. And many fans were even upset with the result of the fight. Mayweather is confident that won’t happen again.
Mayweather said this about McGregor, “He’s confident, he’s confident.” Floyd “Money” went on, “I know I’m going to face a warrior. On paper we know he’s taller and has a long reach. He has youth on his side. People say that he has power on his side.” Mayweather also said, “They’re always confident, but it’s a little different when you get in there with Floyd Mayweather. Because when the bell rings and you’re across from me and you look around, damn it’s really here. For me it’s just another day.” Floyd would go on to say, “I’ve been here before, and I know what it takes.”
One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a fight to see. With Mayweather now age 40 though, will he be able to beat the younger McGregor? And will McGregor be able to beat Mayweather at a game that Floyd has decades of experience at? The world will find out those answers August 26, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. What we do know is, that it’s going to be a show worth seeing. And according to Mayweather, it could be the best fight ever to happen.
