It has been a wild 24-hours for Branden Albert. Yesterday, Branden Albert announced that he is coming out of his short-lived retirement and return to Jacksonville but it is being reported that Jacksonville might not take him back.
This offseason, Branden Albert was traded from the Dolphins to the Jaguars in the deal that sent tight end Julius Thomas to Miami. Branden Albert was set to compete for the starting left tackle job at Jaguars camp but opt to retire out of thin air one day.
The sudden retirement and quick return have put the Jaguars in an uneasy state with Albert. If the Jaguars do in fact don’t bring him back they could explore a trade or just outright release him from the roster, allowing him to test free agency. We should know the fate of Albert’s tenure in Jacksonville as earlier as this afternoon. Check back to this post later this afternoon.
