The Atlanta Braves have emerged as one of the teams interested in Texas Rangers infielder/outfielder Jurickson Profar as the trade deadline approaches.
This is not the first time that Profar’s name has been brought up in trade talks in recent memory as at one point where he was a top prospect in baseball he was one of the most sought-after prospects in the game. Fast forward to today, Jurickson Profar has taken a huge step back in his career and has been at best in his career bouncing around from the minors to the majors since 2012. This season, Profar has appeared in 22 games and is batting .172 with 5 RBI’s with an on-base percentage of .294.
Jurickson Profar, 24, can benefit with a change but the Texas Rangers asking price could be interesting. Any team chasing Profar will really have to blow the Texas Rangers away with an offer to grab him. Jurickson Profar still has a lot of upside being very versatile with his experience in the infield and outfield which will benefit any team looking for depth in both areas.
