Mavericks Making Re-Signing Nerlens Noel A Priority This Offseason

According to Marc Stein, the Mavericks are making re-signing Nerlens Noel a priority.

This past season, Noel had a rocky first year in which is to blame on lingering knee injuries. In 22 games last season Noel averaged 8.5 PPG, 6.8 RPG while having .575 field goal percentage.

The Mavericks are in the rebuilding process and have a nice core of players well on the rise in Dallas such as Nerlens Noel, Harrison Barnes, Wesley Matthews and recently draft-steal Dennis Smith Jr.

Keeping this core together and having Noel be a part of it could mean a payday for Noel as he could be given a max contract despite his history of injuries. It’s going to be something to keep tabs during the course of the Mavs offseason.
