Seattle Mariners Sign Jean Segura To 5-Year, $70 Million Dollar Extension

The Seattle Mariners have locked up their shortstop for the future. Jean Segura was acquired this past offseason that sent Taijuan Walker to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

For some time now the Mariners had an issue finding their permanent shortstop having bounced around from Willie Bloomquist, Ketel Marte and Brad Miller since 2015. Jean Segura is off to a great start with the Mariners batting .341 with 4 home runs and 20 RBI’s. At this current time, Segura is on the disabled list with a high ankle sprain, but this only just a minor bump in the road for him.
