Former WWE World Heavyweight and ECW Champion Jack Swagger has asked the WWE to release him from his contract.

It has been a very crazy last couple of days in the world of professional wrestling from the amount of superstars asking for their release from their respective wrestling promotions. This week started with the Hardys, Drew Galloway, Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis-Bennett and Jade asking their release from Impact Wrestling and now the WWE is getting hit with the possible departure of Jack Swagger.

For quite sometime, Jack Swagger has been only used on the WWE Live circuit and has not been used in any sort of storyline or any angle since his time with The Real Americans (Cesaro & Zeb Colter). The Real Americans timeline ran for two years (2013-2014) and ended when Cesaro turned on Colter and Swagger to become a “Paul Heyman Guy”. Since the fallout of The Real Americans, Jack Swagger has been lost and has not been scene Raw or Smackdown Live or was even drafted by any brand during the draft last year.

Jack Swagger made an appearance on the Chanel Sonnen podcast to talk about his request release from the WWE and you can listen to an excerpt of it down below.
