Pro Football News & Rumors: February 19th, 2017

Here are your professional football news and rumors from February 19th, 2017.

National Football League

  • Jacksonville Jaguars & Miami Dolphins: Rumors are going around that the Jaguars and the Dolphins are discussing a trade that will send offensive tackle Branden Albert to the Jaguars in exchange for tight end Julius Thomas. This is a rumor that has build a lot of attention and it looks like it is going to happen. Both team’s are needy of this swap as the Dolphins have been a dud at tight end and the Jaguars need to protect Blake Bortles more. The addition of Thomas will add some veteran depth to the position as the team is surely ready to move on from struggling tight end Jordan Cameron. The deal could likely be finalized on March 9th, the start of the new league year.

  • Dallas Cowboys: According to CBS Sports, Tony Romo is willing to “massage” his contract in order to get traded. This is a huge step in what will be “THE STORY” to watch during the offseason. Tony Romo still holds a grand total of $54 million dollars in base salary (not including bonuses) until 2020. Knowing that Romo is willing to shave off some of his salary it is a breather for teams who have interest in the 14-year veteran. We expect the Texans to remain as top contenders for Tony Romo.
