Bellator MMA has announced this afternoon that Josh Koscheck will finally make his Bellator MMA debut and it will be against Mauricio Alonso, who will be making his second appearance under the Bellator banner.
Josh Koscheck (17-10) will finally be making his anticipated Bellator debut, 2-years after signing with the promotion in June of 2015. At one point, Josh Koscheck was supposed to make his Bellator debut at an early as he was set to fight Paul Daley at Bellator 158. The bout between Koscheck and Daley was scrapped after Koscheck pulled out of the fight due to injury. Since pulling out of the fight there has not been much news on Josh Koscheck until this morning’s announcement. Koscheck is currently riding a 5-fight losing streak, which began back in his days in the UFC.
Mauricio Alonso (12-7-0-1) will be making his second appearance under the Bellator banner at Bellator 172. Mauricio Alonso made his Bellator debut back at Dynamite 2 where he was unsuccessful in his bout against Nick Pica, losing via unanimous decision. Following his loss to Pica, Alonso was linked to having another fight against James Terry but he had to pull out of the fight due to injury. Come Bellator 172 it will be a huge step in competition for Alonso, who will look to pull off an upset against Josh Koscheck.
