Browns Lockup Linebacker Jamie Collins To A Four-Year Pact

It has been confirmed that the Cleveland Browns have locked up linebacker Jamie Collins to a massive 4-year, $50 million dollar pact with $26 million guaranteed.

Jamie Collins was a huge addition for the Cleveland Browns this season after being acquired in trade back in October for a conditional third round selection. Jamie Collins was set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the Super Bowl and was bound for a big pay day by any team that was interested. 2017 was Collins final year of his rookie contract.

Jamie Collins new deal now puts his name in the top 5 list of top paid linebackers putting his name next to Von Miller, Clay Matthews and Justin Houston. Jamie Collins ended 2017 with 112 total tackles, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions.

Justin’s Thoughts: The Cleveland Browns were able to go out and do what they said they will do and that is to lockup Collins to a long term deal.. Jamie Collins will not only be the face of the defense, but he will also be a great piece to help build a defense around. The Browns have four selections in the first two rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft in which three of the four early picks could be used to build pieces around the defense and help out Jamie Collins.
