The San Diego Chargers have announced that they have officially placed Manti Teo on injured reserve and have signed former Oakland Raiders linebacker Korey Toomer to the roster.
Manti Teo was the latest Charger to go down with injury this season when he went down Sunday vs. Indianapolis. Teo sustained the injury in a non-contact play and was seen to be very emotional leaving the field. Manti Teo’s MRI revealed to be a torn Achilles, costing him the rest of the season.
Taking the place of Teo on the 1-2 Chargers roster is former Oakland Raider and Seattle Seahawk, Korey Tomer. Though Toomer is coming in as a depth addition to the roster who will likely contribute on special teams, expect Jatavis Brown and Joshua Perry to be named starter at middle linebacker for the remainder of the season.
The San Diego Chargers welcome back New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees to San Diego this Sunday.
