Gearing up for his bout at ONE Championship: Heroes of the World against Martin Ngyuen on August 13th. I was able to have an opportunity to speak to ONE Championship’s fastest rising star, Christian Lee.
Justin David Kish: Thank you so much for your time Christian, how are things going for you today?
Christian Lee: No problem, it’s my pleasure. Things are going great, I’ve got all of my family around me and everything is running smoothly.
Justin David Kish: On August 13th you will be meeting Martin Ngyuen at the Heroes of the World event. How are you currently preparing yourself for the fight?
Christian Lee: I have been training extremely hard for this fight. I’ve had great people around me and come August 13th, I will be more than ready for Martin.
Justin David Kish: You are one of the fastest rising stars in the ONE Featherweight division. If this bout goes the way you want it where do you see yourself after this fight?
Christian Lee: If I can take Martin out in devastating fashion, I would like to see myself fighting someone within the top 5 of my division.
Justin David Kish: Sticking on the fight at hand, what do you know so far about Martin Ngyuen?
Christian Lee: I know that Martin is a good fighter who has decent experience in the ONE cage. He has fought for the title already, so beating him should bring me one step closer to title contention.
Justin David Kish: When you look at Ngyuen on film what are some of his weaknesses you plan on pushing on fight night?
Christian Lee: You’ll have to wait for fight night to see!
Justin David Kish: Already in your training camp for the fight, have you brought in any one special for the fight camp?
Christian Lee: I’ve been surrounded by the same team I’ve always had and I’ve been training harder than ever.
Justin David Kish: Now you train with some of the finest fighters in MMA like Rafael dos Anjos and fellow ONE FC fighter and your sister Angela Lee. How big of a role are they going to set in your training camp?
Christian Lee: My sister is one of my biggest inspirations in fighting. I am so proud of her accomplishments, and training alongside her is always a pleasure.
Justin David Kish: Thank you so much for your time Christian, but before we let you go can you give us a quick prediction for your fight against Martin?
Christian Lee: I heard Martin say in an interview that it’s going to be a quick night.. He’s right, this ones not leaving the first round.
